IPO Stock Screener
Feb 15, 2025

The IPO Stock Screener indicator is a utility tool designed to help traders identify and filter stocks that have recently debuted on the market based on their trading history duration.
Usage
The Usage of this script is primarily focused on screening within a watchlist rather than traditional chart analysis. By applying this script, users can quickly identify "New IPO" stocks that fall below a specific bar count threshold.
Traders can use the "Days Since IPO" column to sort their watchlist from lowest to highest, effectively organizing assets from the most recent IPO to the oldest within the detectable range. This is particularly useful for traders who specialize in trading new listings or "fresh" price action where historical data is limited.
Details
The script functions by calculating the total number of bars available (bar_index + 1) for a given symbol. Because TradingView's Pine Script processing for certain screener functions may have limitations on historical bar access, this tool is optimized to detect stocks with up to 500 trading days of history (approximately two years of market activity).
When a stock meets the user-defined criteria (having fewer bars than the threshold), the script triggers a background highlight and a visual label. It also outputs the raw count of available bars, providing a clear metric for exactly how many days a stock has been trading.
Settings
The script features a single primary control group:
- IPO Days: This setting determines the maximum number of trading days (bars) a stock can have to be considered a "New IPO." The value can be set between 1 and 499.
FAQ
How do I use the IPO Stock Screener to find the newest stocks?
Add the script to your chart and open the Pine Screener or your Watchlist. Look for the "Days Since IPO" value and sort the column in ascending order to see the most recent listings at the top.
Why is the maximum threshold set to 499?
This limit is established to ensure compatibility with standard script processing constraints, allowing for accurate detection of stocks that have been trading for roughly two years or less.
How can I access IPO Stock Screener?
You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
