Simple ICT Market Structure
Apr 22, 2023

The Simple ICT Market Structure indicator provides a visual framework for identifying hierarchical swing points based on ICT concepts to help traders navigate market delivery. It automatically categorizes swing highs and lows into three distinct tiers, allowing for a clearer understanding of price action maturity and liquidity pools.
Usage
The tool is designed to highlight different levels of market structure on the chart. By identifying these points, traders can better understand the current trend phase and potential areas where liquidity may be resting.
- Short Term Swing Points (ST): These are the most frequent points, represented by dots. They help identify immediate price shifts.
- Intermediate Term Swing Points (IT): Represented by hollow triangles, these are formed when a short-term swing point is flanked by two lower short-term highs (for IT highs) or two higher short-term lows (for IT lows).
- Long Term Swing Points (LT): Represented by solid triangles, these indicate significant structural pivots. They are formed when an intermediate-term swing point is flanked by two lower intermediate-term highs (for LT highs) or two higher intermediate-term lows (for LT lows).
Traders often use the Long Term points to identify major pools of liquidity, while using Short and Intermediate terms to frame internal market structure.
Details
This indicator is based on the technical teachings of the ICT 2022 Mentorship. The logic follows a nested structure:
- Short Term Highs/Lows: Defined by a basic 3-candle pattern where the middle candle has the highest high or lowest low.
- Intermediate Term Highs/Lows: A Short Term High becomes an Intermediate Term High if it is higher than the Short Term Highs immediately preceding and following it.
- Long Term Highs/Lows: An Intermediate Term High becomes a Long Term High if it is higher than the Intermediate Term Highs immediately preceding and following it.
