QuarryLake Indicator Map - ATR Trend Following Strategy
Sep 2, 2019

The QuarryLake Indicator Map indicator is a comprehensive trend-following tool that integrates three distinct technical filters to identify high-probability trend entries and exits while maintaining a clean workspace through a bottom-panel map display.
Usage
The indicator functions by aggregating signals from three core components: the Keltner Channel (KC), Volatility Stop (Vstop), and Waddah Attar Explosion (WAE). Users can monitor the indicator map at the bottom of the chart to see the real-time status of each component.
- Long Entry: Occurs when price is above the Keltner Channel upper band, price is above the Volatility Stop, and the Waddah Attar Explosion indicates a bullish trend exceeding the dead zone and explosion threshold.
- Short Entry: Occurs when price is below the Keltner Channel lower band, price is below the Volatility Stop, and the Waddah Attar Explosion indicates a bearish trend exceeding the dead zone and explosion threshold.
- Exits: The tool provides exit signals (indicated by crosses) when price crosses back over the Keltner Channel bands or the Volatility Stop line.
Details
The script is designed to reduce chart clutter by moving complex calculations into a visual map format. It utilizes:
- Keltner Channel: Acts as a trend filter based on EMA and ATR-derived bands.
- Volatility Stop: A trailing stop mechanism that adapts to price volatility.
- Waddah Attar Explosion: A combination of MACD and Bollinger Bands used to detect the start of a trend and the presence of sufficient volume/volatility.
Settings
Keltner Channel
- Keltner Channel Period: The lookback period for the EMA and ATR used in KC calculations.
Volatility Stop

- Volatility Stop Multiplier: The sensitivity multiplier for the stop distance.
Waddah Attar Explosion (WAE)
- WAE Sensitivity: Controls the intensity of the trend signal.

- WAE SlowEMA Length: Slow EMA period for the internal MACD calculation.
