RSI Bar Chart
Mar 19, 2021

The RSI Bar Chart indicator provides a horizontal bar-based visualization of five different Relative Strength Index (RSI) calculations simultaneously. By consolidating multiple RSI instances—each with customizable lengths and timeframes—into a single panel, it allows traders to quickly compare momentum across various periodicities and asset contexts.
Usage
The indicator can be used to gauge momentum alignment across multiple timeframes or lengths. By default, it plots five bars, representing different RSI configurations. Traders can look for "confluence" where multiple bars turn the same color or point in the same direction to identify strong trend conditions.
The visual output changes based on the RSI value relative to the 50 level and the user-defined overbought/oversold limits:
- Overbought: When the RSI is above the sell limit, the bar is colored to indicate potential exhaustion.
- Bullish Momentum: When the RSI is above 50 but below the sell limit.
- Bearish Momentum: When the RSI is below 50 but above the buy limit.
- Oversold: When the RSI is below the buy limit, indicating potential undervaluation.
Details
This tool uses a custom coordinate system to draw horizontal bars within an indicator pane. It leverages request.security to fetch higher timeframe data for specific RSI slots. The bars originate from a central "50" line; values above 50 extend to the right, while values below 50 extend to the left. The style of these indicators can be toggled between standard lines or arrows to indicate the direction of momentum relative to the midpoint.

FAQ
How do I interpret the colors on the RSI Bar Chart?
The colors represent the position of the RSI relative to the 50 level and your custom buy/sell limits. Red usually indicates overbought conditions, green indicates over 50 (bullish) or oversold depending on your settings, and blue typically represents the bearish zone between 50 and the buy limit.
Can I use this for Multi-Timeframe analysis?
Yes, each of the five RSI slots has a "timeframe" setting. You can set them to 'D' for Daily or 'W' for Weekly while viewing a lower timeframe chart to see higher-level momentum trends.
How can I access RSI Bar Chart?
