The Tick-Based Delta Volume Bubbles indicator provides real-time visualization of order flow by tracking net volume delta at the tick level to reveal aggressive buying and selling pressure. It aims to offer traders granular insight into market dynamics by processing live tick updates rather than relying solely on closing bar data.

Usage

The script can be used to identify significant order flow imbalances as they occur during a live session. Traders can monitor the size and color of the "bubbles" to gauge the strength of a move.

  • Normal Mode: Displays sized bubbles at the bar midpoint. Larger bubbles indicate a significant deviation from the average net delta, highlighting potential exhaustion or breakout points.
  • Minimal Mode: Provides a cleaner interface by placing small dots above or below the price bars (green for positive delta, red for negative), which is ideal for those who prefer an unobtrusive chart layout.
  • Intensity vs. Flow Classification: By default, the indicator colors bubbles based on "Flow Type" (Aggressive/Passive). However, switching to "Intensity Mode" allows users to see volume spikes based on magnitude (Gray to Red) regardless of the direction, which is useful for identifying high-activity zones.

Details

This tool utilizes a tick detection mechanism that tracks volume increments between price updates in real-time. By comparing the net delta of the current bar to a moving average of the absolute net delta over a specified lookback period, the script calculates "Delta Strength." This strength determines the bubble's size across five levels (Tiny to Huge). Because it relies on varip variables to capture intra-bar data, the indicator is strictly a real-time tool and will not display historical bubbles from before it was added to the chart.

Settings

  • Delta Average Length: Sets the lookback period (1-200) for calculating the baseline delta strength.
  • Hide Bubbles Until Enough Data: When enabled, suppresses visuals until the averaging period is complete to ensure calculation accuracy.
  • Show Data Collection Status Box: Toggles a progress box in the top-right corner that shows how many real-time bars have been collected.
  • Minimal Mode: Switches the display from central bubbles to dots above/below bars.
  • Bubble Volume %ile: A percentile-based filter that determines the minimum net delta required to trigger a bubble display.
  • Show Numbers in Bubbles: Toggles the display of numeric delta values inside the bubbles.
  • Label Volume %ile: A separate filter for numeric labels, usually set higher than the bubble filter to reduce clutter.
  • Intensity Mode: Changes the coloring logic from directional flow to magnitude-based intensity.

FAQ

How do I access the Tick-Based Delta Volume Bubbles? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

Why are no bubbles appearing on my historical chart? This indicator processes live tick data and does not provide historical analysis. It only begins collecting and displaying data once it is added to a live, active chart.

Why does the indicator show "No Volume Data Available"? The script requires tick-by-tick volume data to function. It will not work on symbols or brokers that do not provide volume information (such as many retail Forex pairs).
