The Gold Breakout Trader indicator is a specialized intraday tool designed to identify short-term breakout structures on the M1 timeframe by plotting dynamic price zones every two hours. It aims to provide traders with objective entry and exit levels based on recent price action, specifically tailored for the volatility of the Gold market.

Usage

The indicator functions by establishing a neutral "gray box" around a reference price point. This structure acts as a starting point for potential breakouts.

  • Bullish Breakouts: Traders look for an M1 candle to close above the dashed "Buy Stop" line. This line is calculated with a user-defined buffer above the central gray box.
  • Bearish Breakouts: Traders look for an M1 candle to close below the dashed "Sell Stop" line, located below the central gray box.
  • Targeting: Once a breakout is confirmed, three Take Profit (TP) zones are generated in the direction of the trade. TP1 serves as an initial target for partial profits or moving stops to breakeven, while TP2 and TP3 act as extended targets.
  • Risk Management: A common strategy involves placing the Stop Loss on the opposite side of the breakout structure (e.g., at the Sell Stop line for a Long trade).

Details

The Gold Breakout Trader utilizes a time-based logic to refresh its levels. By default, it plots a new set of zones every two hours, ensuring the breakout structure is always relevant to current market volatility. The script uses fixed USD-based offsets rather than percentages or pips, making it highly specific to Gold pricing. The central buffer and spacing between TP zones are fully customizable to allow traders to adapt to different market conditions or spread requirements.

Settings

Core Settings

  • Trigger Hour / Minute: Defines the specific time to generate daily zones if the 2-hour plot is disabled.

  • Buffer: Gray Box to Stop Lines: The distance between the neutral zone and the actual entry trigger lines.
  • Gap: Stop Lines to TP Zones: The distance between the entry trigger and the first profit target.
  • Gap Between TP Zones: The vertical spacing between TP1, TP2, and TP3.
