The Breaker Confluence Engine indicator maps out breaker-style zones, Fair Value Gaps (FVGs), and key confluence areas by projecting higher-timeframe structures onto the current chart. This tool helps traders identify institutional shifts and imbalances while maintaining a clean visual interface for multi-timeframe analysis.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify high-probability reversal and continuation zones. Traders can select a source timeframe (e.g., 15m or 1H) to generate the primary logic while trading on a lower timeframe (e.g., 1m or 5m).

Breaker & FVG Identification

The script automatically detects bullish and bearish breaker zones using pivot-based swing structures. When price breaks through a pivot and creates an imbalance, a zone is formed. These zones act as projected support or resistance. Fair Value Gaps from the source timeframe are also projected to highlight areas of price inefficiency.

Confluence & Rating

A primary feature of the tool is the highlighting of "Confluence Areas," which occur when a breaker zone aligns with a source-timeframe FVG. Each zone is assigned a rating (Weak, Interest, Momentum, Absorption, or Institutional) based on factors such as displacement, relative volume, and sweep context, allowing traders to prioritize high-conviction setups.

Execution & Tracking

The script tracks the lifecycle of each zone:

  • Fresh: Price has not yet returned to the zone.
  • Tested: Price has tapped the zone.
  • Mitigated: Price has fully traversed or invalidated the zone (these can be automatically hidden).
  • Potential Breakers: An optional layer that warns when price is approaching a prior swing level before the breaker is officially confirmed.

Details

The script utilizes lookahead-off source timeframe logic to ensure that higher-timeframe zones only appear after the source candle has closed, maintaining data integrity.

  • Displacement: Measures the strength of the move away from the pivot using an ATR-based threshold.
  • Sweep Context: Checks if price took out liquidity from a previous high or low (Pivot) before forming the breaker.
  • Directional Delta Proxy: Estimates buying or selling pressure within the zone's formation candle to gauge institutional participation.
  • Session Filtering: Includes a New York session filter to focus analysis on specific liquidity windows.

Settings

Breaker Structure & Timeframe

  • Source Timeframe: Determines the timeframe used for breaker and FVG logic.
  • Pivot Length: Adjusts the sensitivity for detecting swing highs and lows.
  • Filter by New York Session: Restricts zone detection to the NY trading window.

Visual Display

  • Display Mode: Options include Desktop (detailed), Mobile (compact), or Clean (minimalist).
  • Highlight Breaker + Source FVG Alignment: Toggles the visual confluence border.
  • Hide Mitigated Blocks & FVGs: Removes zones once they have been filled or invalidated.
  • Prevent Overlapping Breakers: Prevents the stacking of multiple zones in the same price area.

Fair Value Gaps

  • Show Source/Current Timeframe FVGs: Toggles the visibility of imbalances from both the source and local timeframes.
  • Merge Overlapping FVG Labels: Simplifies the UI by combining labels when local and source FVGs overlap.

Zone Rating & Projection

  • Show Zone Rating: Toggles the text-based rating system.
  • Displacement/Volume Threshold: Fine-tunes the requirements for "Strong" or "Institutional" ratings.
  • Show Projection Tool: Displays a visual risk/reward planning aid from the confirmation candle.

FAQ

How do I interpret the zone ratings? The ratings (Weak to Institutional) are based on the confluence of displacement, volume, and FVG alignment. Higher ratings suggest more significant institutional participation and a higher probability of price reaction.

Can I use this for scalping and swing trading? Yes. For scalping, set the source timeframe to 5m or 15m. For swing trading or higher-context intraday trading, use the 1H, 4H, or Daily source timeframes.
