The BBW EMA RIBBON+BB%B+EMA BUY/SELL Signals indicator provides a comprehensive signal system based on volatility ribbons, Bollinger Bands %B conditions, and trend-following EMA filters to identify high-probability entry and exit zones.

Usage

The tool categorizes signals into three distinct strength levels, allowing traders to scale into positions or use different triggers for entry and exit:

  • Weak Signals (Circles): Minor overbought/oversold conditions within a potential trend zone.
  • Normal Signals (Triangles + "BUY/SELL"): Standard setups following filtered volatility conditions.
  • Strong Signals (Labels + "STRONG BUY/SELL"): High-conviction setups where price and volatility align with strong trend filters.

Traders can use the green background zones to identify potential long entry areas and red zones for potential exits or short considerations. The 200 EMA serves as a primary trend filter to ensure trades are aligned with the major market direction.

Details

The script utilizes a unique "EMA Ribbon of BBW" (Bollinger Band Width). By calculating several EMAs of the volatility (BBW), it detects when volatility is expanding or contracting in a specific trend.

  • Entry Zones: Triggered when the volatility EMAs are stacked in a specific bullish alignment.
  • Exit Zones: Triggered when the volatility EMAs show signs of exhaustion or bearish alignment.
  • Heikin Ashi Integration: The script includes an option to process all calculations using Heikin Ashi candles to smooth out price action and reduce noise.

Settings

FILTERS

  • Use Heikin Ashi Candles: Toggles the use of smoothed candle data for signal detection.
  • EMA Ribbon filter: Restricts entry zones to only appear under specific ribbon conditions to prevent trading over-extended moves.
  • Filter Length: Sets the lookback period for the primary volatility filter.

EMA

  • Length: Adjusts the period of the main trend-following EMA.
  • Added EMA filter: When enabled, applies a more stringent price-crossing rule to reduce false signals in choppy markets.

BB & BB%B

  • BB Length/Multiplier: Standard Bollinger Band parameters for volatility calculation.
  • Oversold/Overbought Presets: Choose between "low", "basic", and "high" to adjust the sensitivity of the BB%B triggers.
    • Low: Finds entries/exits at more conservative, "better" prices.
    • High: Triggers signals faster as price approaches the bands.
