Live Economic Calendar

The Live Economic Calendar indicator provides real-time economic news events directly on your charts, helping traders stay informed about key market-moving data. This tool integrates upcoming economic events from Forex Factory, categorized by impact level, to ensure you are prepared for volatility.

Usage

The indicator displays economic events as visual markers on the chart and in an optional dashboard. Traders can use these cues to anticipate periods of high volatility.

• Real-Time Updates: Displays news events based on impact level (High, Medium, Low, Holiday).
• Timezone Synchronization: Users can adjust news event times to match their local timezone for accurate scheduling.
• Currency Filtering: By default, the tool automatically filters news based on the current chart's currency pair. Manual selection is also available for specific currencies like USD, EUR, GBP, etc.
• Visual Cues: High-impact events can be highlighted using vertical lines, labels, and background shading to ensure significant market movers are not missed.
• Alert System: Alerts can be configured to trigger a specific number of minutes before or after an event.

This tool is built using the Forex Factory utility and decoding libraries. It processes data from multiple slots to ensure comprehensive coverage of the economic calendar. The script includes a deduplication logic to prevent redundant event markers and a sorting mechanism to handle historical and upcoming data efficiently. It is designed to work on timeframes ranging from 30 seconds to the Daily chart.

Expected Impact

• Impact Toggles (🔴, 🟠, 🟡, ⚪): Enable or disable the display of High, Medium, Low impact news, and Bank Holidays.

Currencies

• Automatic: Automatically detects and filters news for the currencies in the active chart symbol.
• Manual Currency Toggles: Specific toggles for AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, EUR, GBP, JPY, NZD, and USD.

News On Chart

• Chart History: Choose between 'Today', 'This Week', or 'Manual' to define how much historical news remains visible.
• Show Labels/Lines: Toggle visibility for text labels and vertical event lines.
• Label/Line Style: Customize the size, position (Above/Below), and style (Solid/Dashed/Dotted) of chart markers.

News Table

• Show: Toggles the visibility of the on-screen information table.
• Table Type/Time: Select the duration covered by the table and the time format (24H or AM/PM).
• Position/Size: Adjust the table's anchor point on the chart and its overall scale.

Alerts

• Alert Before (minutes): Sets the lead time for notifications prior to an event.
• Alert After (minutes): Sets the delay for notifications following an event.

FAQ

How do I filter for only specific currency pairs?
In the settings menu under the "Currencies" group, uncheck "Automatic" and select the specific currencies (e.g., USD and EUR) you wish to monitor.

Why are some events not appearing on my chart?
Ensure your timeframe is set between 30 seconds and 1 Day. Additionally, check the "Expected Impact" settings to ensure the specific impact level of the event is enabled.
