DIY Custom Strategy Builder - v1
Sep 19, 2023

The DIY Custom Strategy Builder [ZP] indicator provides a comprehensive toolkit for constructing and visualizing personalized trading systems by combining over 30 popular technical indicators. It streamlines the strategy development process by automatically generating confluence-based signals and offering extensive chart overlay options to reduce visual clutter.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used, examples should be provided in this section. This section also focuses on how main settings affect the indicator interpretation and output.
Strategy Building
Users can create a custom strategy by selecting one "Leading Indicator" and multiple "Confirmation Indicators." The script monitors these in the backend and only prints a LONG or SHORT signal on the chart when all selected conditions align within a user-defined candle expiry window. For example, a user might set the Range Filter as the Leading Indicator and use a 200 EMA Filter and RSI as Confirmation Indicators. A buy signal will only appear if the Range Filter triggers long while price is above the 200 EMA and RSI meets the specified momentum criteria.
Indicator Overlays (Switch Board)
The indicator functions as a multi-tool for chart organization. Users can toggle up to 14 different overlays simultaneously via the Switch Board section, including:
- Support/Resistance and Supply/Demand Zones (SMC).
- Trend tools like SuperTrend, Ichimoku Cloud, and Half Trend.
- Volatility and Volume metrics such as PVSRA, VWAP, and ATR.
Dashboard Monitoring
A built-in dashboard displays the status of the selected Leading and Confirmation indicators. A checkmark (✔) indicates a generated signal, while a cross (✖) indicates the condition is not yet met, allowing traders to see exactly which part of their confluence is missing in real-time.
Details
The script executes logic based on two primary categories: leading signals and confirmation filters. Each integrated indicator has been refactored to generate internal boolean signals.
When a Leading Indicator triggers a signal, the script initiates a "lookback" period (defined by the Signal Expiry setting). If all selected Confirmation Indicators trigger their respective signals within this window, the final confluence signal is printed. This logic prevents "repainting" of historical confluences by ensuring conditions are met on candle close. The indicator also includes an "Alternate Signal" mode to prevent consecutive signals in the same direction, ensuring a clearer trade flow.
Settings
Indicator Setup
- Signal Expiry Candle Count: Defines the number of candles the script waits for confirmations after a leading signal occurs.
- Alternate Signal: When enabled, the script will only show a long signal if the previous signal was short, and vice versa.
- Show Dashboard: Toggles the visibility of the real-time confluence table.
- Dashboard Position/Size: Customizes the UI location and scale on the chart.
Main & Confirmation Indicators
- Leading Indicator: A dropdown to select the primary signal generator (e.g., SuperTrend, MACD, STC).
- EMA Filter: Validates signals based on price position relative to a specific EMA (e.g., Long only above 200 EMA).
- 2/3 EMA Cross: Generates signals based on moving average crossovers with adjustable periods.
- Indicator-Specific Modes: Many filters (like TSI, B-Xtrender, or Awesome Oscillator) include "Signal Type" dropdowns to choose between crossover logic, zero-line crosses, or trend-following modes.
Switch Board
- Overlay Toggles: Individual checkboxes to display visual aids like Liquidity Zones, Market Sessions, or Parabolic SAR without affecting the signal logic.
