The RSI Divergence + Sweep + Signal + Alerts Toolkit indicator is a comprehensive momentum analysis tool that integrates advanced filtering and liquidity concepts into the traditional Relative Strength Index. It aims to help traders identify trend reversals and continuations by combining RSI smoothing, multi-type divergence detection, and momentum-based sweeps.

Usage

The toolkit is designed to provide high-confluence signals by merging different technical analysis concepts.

  • Divergence + Sweep: Traders can wait for a regular or hidden divergence to form. Once the divergence is identified, a subsequent RSI Sweep can act as confirmation of a liquidity event, signaling a potential entry point at the end of the sweep.
  • Sweep + MA Cross: This method focuses on momentum shifts. An RSI Sweep highlights an area of exhausted momentum, while a subsequent crossover between the RSI and its Moving Average (MA) serves as an entry trigger.
  • Visual Overlays: The toolkit can project divergence labels and sweep markers directly onto the price chart, allowing for easier correlation between price action and RSI dynamics.

Details

The script enhances standard RSI analysis through three primary pillars:

  • RSI Moving Average: Smooths out volatility to define the underlying momentum trend. Traders can choose from SMA, EMA, RMA, or VWMA to match their smoothing preference.
  • Automatic Divergence Detection: Uses pivot-based logic to find discrepancies between price and momentum. It identifies both Regular Divergences (reversal signals) and Hidden Divergences (trend continuation signals).
  • RSI Sweeps: Incorporates "Smart Money" liquidity concepts. It tracks when the RSI crosses the 50-level momentum threshold and subsequently "sweeps" price levels to identify where liquidity has been removed, often preceding a significant trend shift.

Settings

RSI Setting

  • Source: The price data used for the RSI calculation.
  • Length: The lookback period for the RSI.
  • Show MA / Div / Sweep: Toggles to enable or disable specific features of the toolkit.
  • Overlays: When enabled, divergence and sweep markers are displayed on the price chart in addition to the RSI pane.

Moving Average

  • Type: Selects the smoothing method (SMA, EMA, RMA, VWMA).
  • Length: Sets the period for the RSI Moving Average.

Divergence

  • Type: Choose to show Regular, Hidden, or both types of divergence.
  • Pivot Left/Right: Controls the lookback and lookforward required to confirm a high or low point.
  • OB/OS Levels: Defines the Overbought (70) and Oversold (30) thresholds.
  • Use OB/OS Limits: If checked, divergences only trigger if the RSI is within the overbought/oversold zones.

Sweep

  • RSI Sweep Source: Defines the price source used for tracking liquidity levels during sweeps.
  • Momentum Threshold: Sets the level (default 50) that defines the RSI trend structure shift.

FAQ

How do I interpret an RSI Sweep? An RSI Sweep occurs when momentum clears a previous structural point after crossing the 50-level. This often indicates momentum exhaustion and a likely reversal.

What is the difference between Regular and Hidden Divergence in this tool? Regular Divergence suggests a potential trend reversal, while Hidden Divergence indicates that the current trend is likely to continue.
