Vdub FX SniperVX3 / Strategy Alerts Beta
Feb 16, 2018

The Vdub FX SniperVX3 / Strategy Alerts Beta tool provides streamlined signal generation based on the Vdub FX Sniper methodology, focusing on automated alerts for trend shifts. It processes price action through a combination of moving averages and multi-timeframe candle analysis to identify potential entry points for long and short positions.
Usage
The indicator is primarily used as a signal generator for automated or manual trading alerts. When the script detects a transition in market structure based on the underlying multi-timeframe calculations, it outputs a signal value that can be used to trigger TradingView alerts.
- Long Signals: Occur when the underlying trend logic shifts bullish, typically visualized by the signal line crossing above the zero trigger.
- Short Signals: Occur when the trend logic shifts bearish, visualized by the signal line crossing below the zero trigger.
- Trend Filtering: Users can utilize the built-in EMA and resistance channel logic to confirm that signals align with broader market momentum.
Details
The script implementation is based on several core technical concepts:
- Multi-Timeframe Analysis: It utilizes
request.securityto pull open and close data from a user-defined period (defaulting to 720 minutes) to determine the primary signal bias. - Support and Resistance Tracking: It monitors the highest highs and lowest lows over a specific length to establish dynamic resistance and support levels.
- Trend Confirmation: The script calculates EMAs and a Hull Moving Average (HMA) structure to define the direction of the trend. The signal logic specifically triggers on the crossover of these calculated trend states.
- Alert Optimization: Unlike the original visual version, this beta version is optimized specifically for alerts, removing visual overlays to keep the chart clean while maintaining the core logic.
Settings
- Candle body resistance Channel: The price source used for calculating the SMA-based resistance channel.
- Support / Resistance length: The lookback period used to determine the highest high and lowest low levels.
- EMA 1 & EMA 2: The lengths for the two Exponential Moving Averages used to determine trend direction.
- Hull MA's Source / Base Length / Scalar: Configuration for the internal Hull Moving Average calculations used for trend smoothing.
- Period: The timeframe used for the higher-order trend signal generation.
