The Stronger Buy/Sell Signals indicator identifies high-probability trend-following opportunities by combining dual Moving Average filters with RSI-based momentum confirmation.

Usage

The indicator generates visual labels on the chart to signal potential entries during established trends. It is designed to filter out market noise and focus on setups where both trend and momentum align.

  • Strong Buy Signal: A green label appears below the price candle when the price is trading above both the 11-period and 50-period SMAs, and the RSI crosses above its 5-period moving average.
  • Strong Sell Signal: A red label appears above the price candle when the price is trading below both the 11-period and 50-period SMAs, and the RSI crosses below its 5-period moving average.

Traders can use these signals to enter positions in the direction of the prevailing trend or as a confirmation tool for existing strategies.

Details

The script utilizes three primary components to validate signals:

  1. Trend Filtering: Two Simple Moving Averages (11-period and 50-period) act as a baseline. The 11-SMA tracks short-term momentum, while the 50-SMA identifies the medium-term trend.
  2. Momentum Impulse: While the RSI is not plotted to maintain chart clarity, it is calculated internally using a 14-period length. An "impulse" is defined by the RSI crossing its own 5-period SMA.
  3. Overlay Logic: By functioning as an overlay, the indicator ensures that signals are mapped directly to price action without requiring separate oscillator panes, which helps in maintaining a focused workspace.

Settings

  • SMA 11: The length of the short-term simple moving average used for trend filtering.
  • SMA 50: The length of the medium-term simple moving average used for trend filtering.
  • RSI Length (Internal): The lookback period for the Relative Strength Index calculation.
  • RSI MA Length (Internal): The lookback period for the moving average applied to the RSI to determine momentum impulses.

FAQ

How do I access Stronger Buy/Sell Signals?

You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

Does this indicator work on all timeframes?

Yes, the indicator can be applied to any timeframe. However, since it relies on moving averages, it is typically most effective in markets showing clear trending behavior.

Why can't I see the RSI on my chart?

The RSI is used for internal calculations to keep the main chart clean. Only the trend-confirming labels and the two SMAs are plotted visually.
