The 万有引力 (Universal Gravitation) indicator provides a trend-following framework based on moving average support and resistance to identify high-probability trend continuation entries through mean reversion principles.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify market trends and potential entry points based on the interaction between price action and moving averages.

  • Buy Signals: A "Rise A" signal indicates a strong bullish trend continuation, while a "Rise B" signal indicates a medium-strength bullish trend continuation. These appear when the price retraces toward the moving averages and bounces.
  • Sell Signals: A "Fall A" signal indicates a strong bearish trend continuation, while a "Fall B" signal indicates a medium-strength bearish trend continuation.
  • Trend Identification: Users can use the short-term and long-term EMA lines to determine the primary market direction. When the short EMA is above the long EMA, the bias is bullish, and vice versa.
  • Roche Limit Zones: By enabling the Roche Limit display, traders can visualize the "fault-tolerance" zone around the moving averages where price reversals are most likely to occur.

Details

The indicator is constructed based on the "Universal Gravitation" theory, which posits that price constantly moves away from and returns to its mean. It utilizes Joseph Granville's Eight Rules for moving averages to define support and resistance behaviors.

Key technical components include:

  • Roche Limit: A volatility-adjusted channel calculated using a 0.2 standard deviation multiplier around the EMAs. This zone serves as a buffer to identify when the price has successfully tested a moving average as support or resistance.
  • Price Denoising: Instead of relying solely on the closing price, the script calculates a "denoised" price using the average of the Open, High, Low, and Close (OHLC4) to reduce market noise.
  • Trend Classification: The script distinguishes between "Strong" and "Neutral" trends by checking the price's position relative to both the short-term and long-term averages. A strong trend involves price action maintaining position above/below the short EMA, while a neutral trend captures deeper pullbacks to the long EMA.

FAQ
