The ICT Sessions & Ranges indicator helps traders identify key intraday price levels by marking custom session highs, lows, and opening ranges. This tool is designed to assist in spotting potential liquidity grabs, reversals, and breakout zones by tracking price behavior around critical time-based areas.

Usage

The indicator can be used to monitor three distinct user-defined time periods, allowing traders to visualize market structure across different trading sessions.

Session Highs & Lows Traders often use session extremes as liquidity zones. Since stop orders frequently rest above session highs or below session lows, price tends to gravitate toward these levels during volatile moves.

• Asia Session: Often characterized by low volatility and ranging price action. These extremes are frequently swept during the early London session.
• London Session: Represents the first major volatility of the day. Highs and lows established here are often tested or swept during the New York session and frequently form the day’s true high or low.

Opening Range Concepts The Opening Range marks the price action during the initial minutes of a session (e.g., the first 30 minutes of New York).

• Breakout Trading: A momentum break of the Opening Range High (ORH) or Opening Range Low (ORL) can signal directional intent for the remainder of the session.
• Liquidity Raids: Traders look for a brief breach of the ORH/ORL followed by a reversal, often indicating a sweep of stops before a move in the opposite direction.

Details

The script executes on intraday timeframes (below 1H) and calculates the highest high and lowest low within specified time windows. It supports three different visualization styles:

• Box: Highlights the entire price range within the time window.
• Lines: Marks the high and low levels with static horizontal lines.
• Lines (extended): Draws the levels and extends them forward until they are breached by price, which is particularly useful for identifying when specific liquidity pools have been mitigated.

Settings

The indicator includes three configurable range groups (Range 1, Range 2, and Range 3), each containing the following settings:

• Show Range: Toggles the visibility of the specific session range.
• Label: A custom text label to identify the range (e.g., "Asia", "London", "OR").
• Style: Selection between Box, Lines, or Lines (extended) display modes.
• Color: Customizes the color for the boxes and lines.
• Start/End Time: Sets the specific hour and minute (EST) for the session window.
• Level Breach Alert: Enables alerts when price crosses the session high or low.
• Session Start/End Alerts: Enables alerts when the specified time window begins or ends.

Can I change the time zone of the sessions? The script is hardcoded to use "America/New_York" (EST) to align with standard ICT methodology, but you can adjust the start and end hours to match your preferred session times relative to that zone.

On which timeframes does this indicator work? The indicator is optimized for intraday timeframes. It will automatically hide itself on timeframes of 1 hour or higher to maintain chart clarity.
