The UT Bot Alerts Strategy indicator provides a comprehensive backtesting framework based on the popular UT Bot signals, integrated with trend filtering and advanced risk management features. It aims to provide a structured approach to trading by combining volatility-based entries with a 200-period EMA trend filter and automated ATR stop-loss logic.

Usage

The strategy generates signals based on the relationship between price, a calculated ATR trailing stop, and an EMA.

  • Long Entries: Occur when the price is above the 200 EMA, the close price is higher than the UT Bot ATR, and the UT Bot EMA crosses over the ATR line.
  • Short Entries: Occur when the price is below the 200 EMA, the close price is lower than the UT Bot ATR, and the UT Bot EMA crosses under the ATR line.
  • Exits: Positions can be closed via a fixed 3:1 risk-reward take profit (where a portion of the position is scaled out) or through a reversal signal (Close Buy/Close Sell) when price and EMA cross back through the ATR trailing stop.
  • Risk Management: Users can define risk as a percentage of the total account. The script calculates the required position size based on the distance to the ATR stop loss.

Details

This tool combines three core concepts to validate trade setups:

  1. UT Bot Alerts Logic: Uses an ATR-based trailing stop to identify momentum shifts.
  2. Trend Filtering: A 200-period EMA ensures that trades are only taken in the direction of the long-term trend.
  3. Volatility-Based Protection: Utilizes an ATR stop-loss mechanism to adapt protection levels to current market volatility.

The script also includes a position size calculator that displays the recommended USD amount for a trade in the corner of the chart, helping traders maintain consistent risk across different setups.
