The Market Structure - Multi-Timeframe indicator identifies key support and resistance levels across up to eight different timeframes using pivot-based channels to provide a comprehensive view of market trends.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on identifying market structure shifts and trend direction across multiple periodicities. Traders can use this tool to:

  • Identify Support & Resistance: The script plots horizontal channels based on pivot highs and lows. These act as dynamic zones for price action.
  • Determine Trend Direction: Channels are color-coded to indicate the current trend. Green signifies a bullish structure, while red signifies a bearish structure.
  • Detect Market Shifts: The indicator highlights Change of Character (ChoCh) and Break of Structure (BoS) events. A ChoCh typically indicates a potential trend reversal, while a BoS suggests a continuation of the current trend.
  • Multi-Timeframe Analysis: By overlaying structures from higher timeframes onto a lower timeframe chart (e.g., 1-minute chart), users can find confluence between short-term movements and long-term trends.

Details

The script utilizes ta.pivothigh and ta.pivotlow functions to determine significant structural points. It executes calculations across eight independent "Groups," each capable of requesting data from a unique timeframe using request.security.

The logic determines trend direction (ppDir) by comparing the current close to the established pivot channels. If the price breaks above the pivot high, the bias shifts to bullish; if it breaks below the pivot low, it shifts to bearish. The "Center" setting allows users to toggle the visual alignment of these structures.
