Trend Based Fibonacci + XABCD Formation
Nov 13, 2025

The Trend Based Fibonacci + XABCD Formation indicator is a structural analysis tool that combines automated trend-based Fibonacci projections with an intelligent XABC detection engine to identify harmonic-style continuation targets. It focuses on swing high-to-low transitions in bearish trends, calculating dynamic retracement levels and symmetrical extensions to estimate market completion zones.
Usage
The indicator is designed to help traders visualize structural progression by identifying key market pivots (X and A) and projecting future targets.
- Identifying the X-A Leg: The tool scans a user-defined lookback period to find the most recent significant high (X) and the subsequent lowest low (A), establishing the primary trend leg.
- Dynamic B-Point Detection: The script evaluates current price action relative to the X-A leg. If the price retraces below the 0.50 level, the B-point is set at 0.50. If it retraces above 0.50, the B-point is set at the 0.382 level, ensuring valid harmonic logic.
- C-Target Projection: Once the X, A, and B points are established, the tool calculates a symmetrical extension (C = B - (X - A)). This serves as a projected continuation zone for the trend.
- Fibonacci Analysis: Users can view a full range of Fibonacci levels from 0.0 to 2.618, which can be toggled individually to refine entries and exits based on retracement or extension percentages.
Details
This tool is built upon the concept of structural symmetry and classic Fibonacci ratios. Unlike standard Fibonacci tools that require manual placement, this indicator automates pivot detection. It focuses specifically on the XABC segment of harmonic theory, providing a geometric estimate of trend continuation without attempting to predict full patterns like Gartleys or Bats. The calculations are based on completed bars to ensure structural integrity and prevent repainting of historical pivots.
Settings
Fibonacci Levels
- 0.0 to 2.618: Toggle the visibility and color for each specific Fibonacci level.
- C Target (1.618): Specific control for the primary harmonic projection target.
XABC
- Show XABC Formation: Enables or disables the visual lines connecting the X, A, B, and C points.
- XABC Line Color/Thickness: Customizes the visual weight and color of the structure.
- Show C Target: Toggles the projected target line and its associated labels.
Appearance
- Lookback Bars: Determines the number of bars the script scans to find the X and A pivots.
- Fibonacci Line Thickness/Style: Options for solid, dashed, or dotted lines.
- Show Price/Percent Labels: Toggles numerical price data and ratio percentages next to the levels.
- Extend Lines: Options to extend Fibonacci levels to the left or right of the chart.
FAQ
How do I interpret the projected C-Target? The C-target is a geometric estimation of where a trend might complete a symmetrical move relative to its initial leg. It should be used as a reference zone rather than a standalone trade signal.
Does this indicator identify full harmonic patterns? No, it focuses exclusively on the trend-based XABC segment and its projected continuation, providing a framework for structural analysis rather than identifying specific patterns like Crab or Butterfly.
How can I access the Trend Based Fibonacci + XABCD Formation? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
