The RSI + Pressure Trend Pro indicator is an RSI-based momentum and pressure framework designed to organize RSI strength, weakness, compression, and expansion into a comprehensive visual system. It transforms the classic oscillator into a multi-layered workflow that includes synthetic candles, volume-weighted analysis, and price-confirmed pressure regimes to help traders identify high-probability trend cycles.

Usage

The tool is designed to be used as a complete momentum ecosystem rather than a simple overbought/oversold indicator.

  • RSI Pressure Oscillator: Use this to gauge the "weight" of current momentum. When the pressure oscillator is above the bullish regime zone and price is holding above the chart-side Pressure Trail, momentum is confirmed as bullish.
  • Synthetic RSI Candles: These help traders visualize the "price action" of the RSI itself. Use the expansion or contraction of these candles to spot momentum exhaustion or breakouts before they are obvious on the price chart.
  • Pressure Trail (Chart-Side): This feature projects RSI pressure back onto the price chart. It acts as a volatility-adjusted support/resistance guide. If the oscillator shows high pressure but price fails to respect the trail, the momentum may be unconfirmed or "hollow."
  • Crossover Layers: Use the Adaptive RSI MA for fast response to trend shifts and the SMA 20/50 layer for broader structural confirmation.

Details

The script builds a composite pressure reading by blending raw RSI levels, recent range positions, trend spreads, and volume-weighted participation. This data is then normalized onto a 0–100 scale. A key implementation detail is the Price-Confirmation Engine. The script checks the RSI pressure regime against a volatility-adjusted price structure (using ATR and smoothed price basis). This ensures that the oscillator colors only remain active when price action validates the momentum reading, reducing "false positive" signals in choppy markets.

Settings

RSI Series

  • RSI 1 & 2 Length: Sets the lookback periods for the fast and core RSI lines.
  • RSI Source: Determines the price data used for calculations (default is Close).

Higher-Timeframe (HTF)

  • HTF RSI Feed Mode: Choose between "Live HTF Float" for real-time updates or "Strict HTF Close" for confirmed higher-period data.

Volume & Crossovers

  • VWA Length: Sets the period for the Volume-Weighted Average of the RSI.
  • Adaptive RSI MA: Toggle between Auto and Manual modes to adjust how the fast/slow moving averages respond to different timeframes.
  • SMA 20/50: Provides a slower, structural baseline for broader momentum context.

Visual Layers

  • RSI Pressure Envelope: Highlights moments where RSI presses into specific upper or lower trigger zones.
  • Lookback Boxes: Automatically identifies recent RSI high and low zones to provide structural reference.

FAQ

How do I interpret the colors on the chart? The colors are price-confirmed. Bullish colors appear when RSI pressure is positive and price is trading above the Pressure Trail. Bearish colors appear when pressure is negative and price is below the trail.

What are the synthetic candles in the oscillator pane? These represent the movement of the RSI 14. The "Open" is the previous RSI value and the "Close" is the current value, allowing you to see the velocity and range of RSI movement bar-by-bar.
