Support and ResistanceDashboardPivot Based (Retrospective)Volatility

The Support Resistance Reaction Map indicator maps horizontal support and resistance zones from confirmed price structure and evaluates how price reacts upon returning to these levels. Unlike standard drawing tools, it focuses on the quality of structural interactions—grading them as constructive, weak, or broken—to provide systematic context for market reversals and continuations.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to organize structural context. Users should look for the reaction labels to determine the strength of a level rejection or hold.

  • Contextual Mapping: Confirmed pivot highs and lows are automatically converted into zones. Nearby levels are merged to reduce chart clutter.
  • Reaction Grading: When price enters a zone, the script evaluates the interaction based on penetration depth and candle bias, displaying labels such as "Clean Hold," "Sharp Reject," or "Break Confirmed."
  • Prioritization: The tool emphasizes the most relevant active zones on either side of the current price, helping traders focus on immediate structural memory rather than historical noise.
  • Compact Panel: Use the panel to quickly identify the nearest intact support/resistance, its qualified touch count, and its current state (e.g., Fresh, Pressured, or Break Risk).

Details

The script utilizes a reactive methodology based on confirmed pivot detection rather than anticipatory guessing.

  • Adaptive Zones: Each level is constructed using an ATR-based width, ensuring the zones adapt to the specific volatility of the market and timeframe being analyzed.
  • Touch Accounting: The engine distinguishes between "Raw" touches (any entry into the zone) and "Qualified" touches (entries that meet specific cooldown and spacing requirements), providing a more accurate measure of level exhaustion.
  • Memory Decay: Stored structural strength fades over time based on the "Strength Decay" setting, simulating the reality that older levels eventually lose their significance.

Settings

Structure

  • Pivot Strength: Number of bars required on each side to confirm a swing level.
  • Maximum Active Zones: Limits the total number of stored structural areas.
  • Zone Width (ATR Multiplier): Sets the vertical thickness of the zones based on volatility.
  • Merge Distance (ATR Multiplier): Defines how close two levels must be to be merged into a single zone.
  • Zone Expiry (bars): The duration after which a level is removed from the active map.

Reaction Engine

  • Retest Cooldown (bars): Minimum spacing required to count a new qualified touch.
  • Break Risk Threshold: The score at which a reaction is labeled as a potential break risk.
  • Decision Score Threshold: Minimum score required by the panel to upgrade its action state.
  • Keep Inactive Zones Visible: Allows broken or expired levels to remain on the chart in a faded state.

Visuals

  • Show Reaction Labels: Toggles the display of on-chart interaction text.
  • Show Premium Panel: Toggles the summary dashboard.
  • Visible Zones Per Side: Limits how many zones are plotted above and below price.
  • Emphasize Nearest Zones: Increases the contrast of the closest support and resistance levels.

FAQ

How do I interpret the reaction labels? Labels like "Clean Hold" suggest a strong defense of the zone, while "Failure Risk" indicates the level is weakening under pressure and may soon break.

What is the difference between Raw and Qualified touches? Raw touches count every entry into a zone. Qualified touches require a specific cooldown period (defined in settings) to prevent counting a cluster of candles as multiple independent retests.
