D-BoT Alpha Reversals
May 27, 2023

The D-BoT Alpha Reversals indicator is a momentum-based reversal tool designed to identify market turning points by analyzing the convergence of multiple RSI lengths and the Rate of Change (ROC). It aims to capture overextended market conditions where price momentum and trend strength align to signal potential trend exhaustion.
Usage
The D-BoT Alpha Reversals indicator can be used to spot mean-reversion opportunities in various market environments. The indicator generates "Buy" and "Sell" labels on the chart based on the following logic:
- Buy Signal: Triggered when both the RSI of ROC and the Adaptive RSI are below the oversold threshold, their difference is within the "Extremities Sensitivity" range, and price action shows a bullish (green) candle.
- Sell Signal: Triggered when both metrics are above the overbought threshold, their difference is minimal, and price action shows a bearish (red) candle.
Users can adjust the sensitivity of these signals by narrowing or widening the "Extremities Sensitivity" parameter. A lower value requires the momentum oscillators to be more tightly aligned, potentially reducing false signals at the cost of frequency.
Details
The script utilizes two primary components for its calculation:
- RSI of ROC: It first calculates a standard Relative Strength Index based on the Rate of Change (ROC). This helps in identifying momentum shifts relative to price velocity rather than just price levels.
- Adaptive RSI: The script calculates an average of multiple RSI lengths ranging from a user-defined minimum to a maximum length. This "Broadcasting" of RSI values provides a more robust view of momentum across different time horizons, reducing the noise associated with a single RSI period.
The final signal is filtered by candle color to ensure that the reversal signal is accompanied by an immediate shift in price sentiment.
Settings
RSI Settings
- Minimum RSI Length: The starting period for the adaptive RSI calculation.
- Maximum RSI Length: The ending period for the adaptive RSI calculation.
- Top: The threshold level for overbought conditions (default is 50).
- Bottom: The threshold level for oversold conditions (default is 50).
- Extremities Sensitivity: Determines how close the RSI of ROC and the Adaptive RSI must be to trigger a signal.
