Trapped Traders Order Blocks
Mar 21, 2025

The Trapped Traders Order Blocks indicator identifies price action patterns where large market participants have been caught in losing positions following significant price sweeps, highlighting potential market reversal zones.
Usage
The tool is designed to help traders identify areas where market participants may be forced to exit their positions, creating momentum in the opposite direction.
- Bullish Trap Blocks: These occur when a bearish sweep candle is immediately followed by a bullish reversal. This suggests that sellers who entered during the sweep are now trapped. Use these levels to look for potential long entries as trapped bears cover their positions.
- Bearish Trap Blocks: These occur when a bullish sweep candle is immediately followed by a bearish reversal. This suggests that buyers are trapped. Use these levels to look for potential short entries as trapped bulls liquidate.
- Sweep Confirmation: The indicator also highlights "Bullish Sweeps" and "Bearish Sweeps" of these identified blocks. A sweep occurs when price revisits the block and shows rejection (long wicks and strong closes), providing further confirmation of a directional move.
This tool is most effective on higher timeframes like 1D, 1W, or 1M, where market noise is reduced and the trapped volume is more significant.
Details
The indicator follows a strict multi-step logic to identify high-probability traps:
- Sweep Detection: It checks if a candle (Candle A) has swept the high or low of the previous candle (Candle B).
- Rejection Wick: Candle A must show rejection through a specific wick-to-body ratio (longer upper wick for bearish traps, longer lower wick for bullish traps).
- No Dojis: The script ensures the trap candle has a significant body (at least 10% of the range) to avoid low-liquidity signals.
- Immediate Reversal: The subsequent candle (Candle C) must close outside the body of Candle A, confirming that price has moved against the initial sweep.
Settings
- Max Box Age (Bars): Determines how many bars a trap block remains active and extends on the chart (default is 52).
- Show Trap Boxes: Toggles the visibility of the rectangular zones representing the trapped bodies.
- Show Sweep Visuals: Enables or disables labels for Bullish and Bearish sweeps of the blocks.
- Bullish/Bearish Box & Border Colors: Customizes the visual appearance of the detected blocks.
- Label Size: Adjusts the size of the sweep and trap labels on the chart.
- Alert Settings: Provides a customizable format for integrating with external webhooks or automated systems.
