The AIH (ACTION IS HERE!) - ALMA SCREENER indicator provides a multi-symbol, multi-timeframe dashboard designed to identify trend alignment using Arnaud Legoux Moving Averages (ALMA). By scanning multiple timeframes simultaneously, it helps traders quickly spot high-probability trend conditions across several assets without switching charts.

Usage

The indicator displays a table on the chart showing the trend status of up to four user-defined symbols across three different timeframes. The trend is determined by the alignment of three ALMA lengths (Base, Mid, and Trend).

  • Bullish Alignment (Green): Occurs when the Base ALMA > Mid ALMA > Trend ALMA, signaling a strong uptrend.
  • Bearish Alignment (Red): Occurs when the Base ALMA < Mid ALMA < Trend ALMA, signaling a strong downtrend.
  • Neutral (Blue): Occurs when the moving averages are not properly calibrated or are crossing, indicating a lack of clear trend direction.

A high-probability trade setup is often identified when all three selected timeframes for a single symbol show the same directional color (e.g., three green cells for a triple-timeframe bullish alignment).

Details

The screener utilizes the Arnaud Legoux Moving Average (ALMA) due to its superior smoothness and responsiveness compared to traditional moving averages. The ALMA uses a Gaussian distribution offset to reduce lag while maintaining a smooth output, which helps in filtering out market noise.

The logic evaluates the relative position of three ALMA lines. For any given timeframe in the table, the script checks if the "Candle Hug" (short), "Mid", and "Trend" (long) periods are stacked in order. The use of request.security allows the dashboard to fetch data from different resolutions (e.g., 5m, 15m, 60m) and display them in a unified interface.

Settings

  • Resolution Low/Mid/High: Sets the three timeframes the screener will monitor for each symbol.
  • ALMA Lengths:
    • ALMA CANDLE HUG Length: The shortest period ALMA, typically used to follow price closely.
    • ALMA MID Length: The intermediate period for trend confirmation.
    • ALMA TREND Length: The longest period for overall trend direction.
  • Symbols 1-4: Allows the user to input the specific ticker symbols (e.g., NSE:RELIANCE, NASDAQ:AAPL) to be tracked.
  • Table Position: Determines where the screener dashboard is anchored on the chart (e.g., Bottom Right, Top Left).

FAQ

How do I interpret the colors on the dashboard? Green indicates a bullish trend where short-term ALMA is above long-term ALMA. Red indicates a bearish trend. Blue indicates a neutral or consolidating state where the averages are not aligned.

Can I track more than four symbols? Due to platform limitations on security calls, this version tracks four symbols. To track more, you can apply the indicator multiple times to your chart with different symbol inputs.
