The Support and Resistance Zones indicator dynamically detects and visualizes key price areas by aggregating price data into synthetic candles to highlight significant supply and demand zones. It provides traders with clear visual cues for potential price reversals or breakouts using customizable shaded boxes that adjust in real-time.

Usage

The indicator can be used to identify high-probability zones where price has historically consolidated. By aggregating multiple bars into single synthetic units, the tool filters out minor price fluctuations, allowing users to focus on institutional-grade levels.

Traders can use the zones to:

  • Identify Support/Resistance: Look for price rejection or stabilization within the shaded boxes.
  • Trade Breakouts: Monitor for candle closes outside of a confirmed zone, which may signal the start of a new trend.
  • Determine Stop Losses/Take Profits: Use the boundaries of the zones to place protective orders or set price targets.

Details

The script functions by grouping a specific number of standard bars (defined by the Aggregation Factor) into synthetic candles. It then monitors these synthetic candles for consolidation. If a specific number of consecutive synthetic candles remain within the price range of the initial candle in the sequence, a zone is formed. This method ensures that the zones are based on time-weighted price action rather than simple highs and lows, emphasizing areas of true market equilibrium.

Settings

  • Aggregated Consolidation Minimum: The number of consecutive synthetic candles required to form a valid support or resistance zone.
  • Terminate Old Zones: When enabled, the indicator will remove previous boxes to keep the chart clean, only displaying the most recent zone.
  • Aggregation Factor: Determines how many standard chart bars are combined to create one synthetic candle (e.g., a factor of 4 on a 15m chart creates 1-hour synthetic candles).
  • Box Border Color: Sets the color of the outline for the detected zones.
  • Box Fill Color: Sets the interior color and transparency of the detected zones.
