The Fibonacci 3-D indicator is a visual tool that introduces a three-dimensional approach to Fibonacci projections by leveraging market geometry and slopes derived from three user-defined points. Unlike traditional horizontal Fibonacci levels, this tool incorporates the rate of price change between points to create dynamic, sloped projections that align with market momentum.

Usage

The Usage section allows users to define three specific market points (A, B, and C), typically swing highs and lows, to form a triangular geometric foundation. The indicator then projects Fibonacci levels based on the selected dimensional mode:

  • 1-Dimensional (1-D): Focuses on a single side of the triangle (AB, AC, or BC) to analyze linear trends.
  • 2-Dimensional (2-D): Combines two slopes to account for both historical price swings and recent momentum.
  • 3-Dimensional (3-D): Integrates all three slopes into a unified projection, providing a comprehensive view of the geometric market structure.

Users can choose between Neutral (horizontal), Ascending, or Descending projections to align the levels with the current trend direction.

Details

The indicator calculates slopes (⌳AB, ⌳AC, and ⌳BC) representing the rate of price change over time. In 3-D mode, the calculation uses weighted averages where the most recent price movement (BC) is given greater weight to ensure the projections remain responsive to current volatility. This multi-dimensional approach is particularly useful for identifying support and resistance zones in non-linear or highly volatile markets where traditional horizontal levels may be less effective.

Settings

Core Settings

  • Dimensions: Selects between 1-D, 2-D, or 3-D calculation modes.
  • Slope Source: Determines which side of the triangle (A-B, A-C, B-C, or Auto) serves as the primary foundation.
  • Orientation: Sets the triangle alignment to Default (Auto) or Inverted to recalibrate slope calculations.
  • Projection: Controls the directional alignment of levels (Auto, Ascending, Neutral, or Descending).

Fibonacci Level Settings

  • Level Visibility: Toggle individual Fibonacci ratios on or off.
  • Level Value: Customize the specific ratios for each level (between 0.0 and 1.0).
  • Color: Adjust the color for each specific level line.

Visibility & Points

  • Show Setup/Triangle: Toggles the geometric framework used for calculations.
  • Labels: Options to show ABC point labels and left/right price scales.
  • Fill %: Adjusts the background opacity between levels.
  • Time/Price Points: Manual coordinate inputs for points A, B, and C (though these are also interactively adjustable on the chart).

FAQ

How do I use this indicator on my chart? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.

Why are there no Fibonacci extensions like 1.618? The Fibonacci 3-D indicator restricts levels to the 0.0–1.0 range because projections are tied directly to the proportional relationships within the triangle's internal structure rather than projecting outside of it.

Does the order in which I place points A, B, and C matter? No, the indicator automatically sorts the points by time. Point A will always be the earliest and point C the most recent, allowing you to drag them freely across the chart.
