Resistance & Support Dynamic PRO
Apr 2, 2026

The Resistance & Support Dynamic PRO indicator provides an algorithmic approach to identifying and managing key market levels by dynamically cleaning and updating zones based on price action. It aims to solve chart clutter by mathematically evaluating, aging, and purging obsolete zones when they lose institutional relevance.
Usage
The tool identifies significant pivot points and draws dynamic support and resistance zones around them. Unlike static lines, these zones react to market volatility and price behavior.
- Smart Mitigation: The indicator tracks "strikes" against a zone. If price breaches or chops through a zone too many times (default is 3), the zone is considered mitigated and is removed from the chart to maintain clarity.
- Alpha Decay: Older zones automatically become more transparent over time, allowing traders to focus on the most recent and relevant price levels while still seeing historical context in the background.
- Dynamic Sizing: Zone thickness is calculated using the Average True Range (ATR), ensuring that levels are proportional to current market volatility.
- Overlap Prevention: The algorithm prevents new zones from being drawn if they are too close to existing ones, reducing visual noise in consolidated areas.
Details
The script uses object-oriented Pine Script (v6) to manage zones as complex data structures. This allows for advanced tracking of specific properties like create time, strike counts, and individual boundary levels. The mitigation logic is calculated bar-by-bar, checking for price crosses against the established boundaries of active zones.
Settings
Core & Mitigation
- Max active zones per side: Limits the total number of support or resistance boxes held in memory.
- Min distance between zones (× ATR): Sets the minimum vertical gap required to spawn a new zone.
- Strict Volume Validation: When enabled, only pivot points with above-average volume (relative to a 20-period SMA) will generate a zone.
- Mitigation Protocol (Purge): Enables the automatic removal of zones that have been breached multiple times.
Visuals & Alpha Decay
- Master Show R/S Zones: Toggle to show or hide all algorithmic zones.
- Show POI boxes: Displays a Point of Interest centerline marker.
- Enable Alpha Decay (Fading): Automatically fades older zones based on their age in bars.
- Colors: Customizable fill and edge colors for both Resistance and Support zones.
Alert System
- Alert Support/Resistance Touches: Independent alerts for price entering the top or bottom boundaries of any active zone.
- Zone Mitigated: Fires an alert when a zone reaches its maximum strike count and is purged.
FAQ
- How do I interpret the transparency of the zones? If Alpha Decay is enabled, the most solid zones are the newest and likely most relevant, while more transparent zones are older.
- Why did a zone disappear from my chart? A zone will disappear if it has been "mitigated" (hit by price too many times) or if the maximum number of zones allowed in settings has been exceeded by newer levels.
- How can I access Resistance & Support Dynamic PRO? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
