RSI BREAKOUT SIGNALS
Nov 17, 2025

The RSI BREAKOUT SIGNALS indicator identifies potential trend reversal and breakout opportunities by combining Bollinger Band price levels with RSI momentum conditions.
Usage
The Usage section focuses on identifying extreme market conditions where price and momentum are stretched. A buy signal is generated when the price closes below the lower Bollinger Band while the RSI is in oversold territory. Conversely, a sell signal is triggered when the price closes above the upper Bollinger Band while the RSI is overbought.
Traders can use these signals to enter mean-reversion trades. The indicator also includes a built-in take-profit logic, aiming for a user-defined percentage gain from the entry price. This helps in automating the exit strategy once a specific profit target is met.
Details
The indicator utilizes two primary technical components:
- Bollinger Bands: It calculates a simple moving average (basis) and standard deviation bands to define the expected price range. Staying outside these bands suggests a significant price deviation.
- Relative Strength Index (RSI): This oscillator measures the speed and change of price movements to determine overbought or oversold conditions.
By requiring both price to be outside the bands and the RSI to be at an extreme level, the script filters out many false breakout signals that might occur when only one condition is met.
Settings
- BB Length: The period used to calculate the Bollinger Bands moving average and standard deviation.
- BB Multiplier: The number of standard deviations for the width of the bands.
- RSI Length: The period used for the RSI calculation.
- RSI Overbought Level: The threshold above which the RSI is considered overbought (typically 70).
- RSI Oversold Level: The threshold below which the RSI is considered oversold (typically 30).
- Take Profit %: The percentage target for closing a position in profit.
