The Quantum Reversal indicator is a quantitative mean reversion tool designed to identify potential trend reversals by combining statistical volatility bands with smoothed momentum analysis. It identifies market extremes where price deviates significantly from its statistical mean, offering a systematic framework for timing entries in mean-reverting market regimes.

Usage

The indicator functions as a comprehensive entry and exit system. An entry signal is generated when the price touches or breaches the lower Bollinger Band (representing a statistical deviation) or when the Neural RSI falls below the user-defined oversold threshold (default at 45).

The tool is optimized for "Long-Only" exposure to align with the primary trend of major assets like Bitcoin. Exits are managed dynamically; the script includes a profit-lock mechanism that triggers a close only when the position shows a positive unrealized P&L and momentum begins to exhaust, rather than relying on fixed price targets.

Details

The script's architecture is built on two primary layers:

  • Statistical Layer: Uses a 20-period SMA and 2.2 standard deviation Bollinger Bands. This multiplier is specifically tuned to capture the majority of price action within a high-confidence interval, flagging extreme moves as mean reversion candidates.
  • Momentum Layer: Features a "Neural RSI," which is a standard 14-period RSI processed through a 5-period simple moving average. This smoothing process filters out high-frequency noise, ensuring that entries are based on sustained momentum shifts rather than temporary fluctuations.

Settings

Core Parameters

  • BB Length: Sets the lookback period for the moving average used in Bollinger Band calculations.
  • BB Multiplier: Adjusts the standard deviation width; higher values require more extreme price moves for a signal.
  • RSI Length: The lookback period for the Relative Strength Index calculation.
  • RSI Oversold Level: The threshold used to identify momentum-based oversold conditions.
  • Neural RSI Smooth Length: The period for the SMA smoothing applied to the RSI to reduce signal noise.

Visuals

  • Watermark Settings: Comprehensive options to customize the background text, including style, color, size, and position.
  • Enable Frame: Toggles the visual border around the watermark text.

FAQ

How do I interpret the signals?

A green dot appearing below the bar indicates a statistical or momentum-based long entry. A red triangle above the bar signifies an exit signal, occurring when the trade is in profit and the mean reversion move has likely completed.

What market conditions are best for this tool?

This indicator is most effective in ranging or consolidating markets where price frequently oscillates around a mean. In strong, parabolic trending markets, mean reversion signals may occur prematurely.
