MA15, MA50 with Support/Resistance, CHoCH, Trend, and Entry/Exit
Aug 2, 2024

The MA15, MA50 with Support/Resistance, CHoCH, Trend, and Entry/Exit indicator provides a multi-layered technical analysis framework by combining moving average crossovers, dynamic price levels, and trend confirmation to identify potential market reversals and entry points.
Usage
The tool is primarily used to identify market structure shifts (CHoCH) and trend continuations. Users can observe the interaction between the 15-period and 50-period moving averages to determine the primary trend direction.
- CHoCH Signals: A "CHoCH Up" label appears when the MA15 crosses above the MA50, signaling a potential bullish character change. Conversely, a "CHoCH Down" label appears when the MA15 crosses below the MA50.
- Trend Backgrounds: The chart background highlights uptrends in green and downtrends in red based on MA alignment and price position.
- Support/Resistance: Horizontal levels are automatically drawn based on swing highs and lows, providing visual targets for pullbacks.
- Buy/Sell Signals: "Buy" signals appear when a bullish CHoCH occurs and the price pulls back to a support level during an uptrend. "Sell" signals appear when a bearish CHoCH occurs and the price pulls back to a resistance level during a downtrend.
Details
The script utilizes simple moving averages (SMA) to filter the trend. The Support and Resistance logic relies on a lookback period to identify swing points; once a new high or low is detected within that window, the horizontal lines update and extend into the future. Change of Character (CHoCH) is defined mathematically by the crossover of the two averages. The trend is further confirmed by checking if the closing price resides on the appropriate side of the long-term moving average.
Settings
- MA 15 Length: Sets the period for the faster simple moving average.
- MA 50 Length: Sets the period for the slower simple moving average.
- Lookback Period for Support/Resistance: Determines the number of bars used to calculate swing highs and swing lows for level detection.
