Exponential VWAP Pivots
Aug 17, 2020

The Exponential VWAP Pivots indicator provides a dynamic pivot point system calculated using an exponential volume-weighted average price (VWAP) method across multiple user-defined intervals. It aims to offer traders more responsive support and resistance levels by weighting recent price and volume data more heavily than traditional pivot calculations.
Usage
Traders can use the Exponential VWAP Pivots to identify potential intraday or long-term reversal points and trend continuations. By selecting between different pivot types (Classic, Camarilla, or Woodie), the indicator adapts to various trading styles:
- Classic Pivots: Standard support (S) and resistance (R) levels derived from the previous interval's VWAP high, low, and close.
- Camarilla Pivots: Focused on price action close to the previous close, often used for mean-reversion or breakout strategies.
- Woodie Pivots: Places extra weight on the current period's opening price, providing a different perspective on value.
The tool allows for visualization of the VWAP itself, as well as the high, low, and close markers of the VWAP from the previous period to establish a value area.
Details
Unlike standard VWAP, which uses a simple cumulative average, this script utilizes an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) logic for both the source price-volume product and the volume itself. This creates an "Exponential VWAP" that is more sensitive to recent market activity. The pivot levels are then calculated based on the extreme values (High/Low) and the final value (Close) of this Exponential VWAP from the chosen interval (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly).
Settings

FAQ
How do I use the Exponential VWAP Pivots?
You can use it to identify key liquidity zones where price is likely to react. R1-R4 act as resistance, while S1-S4 act as support, with the central Pivot acting as the "fair value" anchor.
What is the difference between this and standard Pivots?
Traditional pivots use price alone; these pivots use Exponential VWAP, which incorporates volume and gives more significance to recent trading activity.
