Super OrderBlock / FVG / BoS Tools by makuchaku & eFe
Apr 4, 2022

The Super OrderBlock / FVG / BoS Tools indicator provides a comprehensive suite of Smart Money Concepts (SMC) tools designed to automatically identify and visualize Order Blocks, Fair Value Gaps, and Break of Structure events. It streamlines market structure analysis by dynamically drawing non-repainting zones that extend until mitigation, helping traders identify high-probability institutional interest zones.
Usage
The Usage section describes how the script can be used to visualize key trading concepts. This tool is primarily used by SMC traders to identify where institutional buy or sell orders may be resting.
- Order Blocks (OB): The indicator highlights specific candles representing institutional activity. These zones are extended forward until the price returns to "mitigate" or test the area.
- Fair Value Gaps (FVG): It identifies imbalances in price action where a gap exists between the shadows of the first and third candles in a three-candle sequence. Users can distinguish between standard FVGs and those that occur during a structure break.
- Break of Structure (BoS): The script tracks crossovers of key pivot points to identify shifts in market trend. These can be visualized as boxes or lines to signify a change in market character.
- Rejection Blocks (RJB): These highlight areas where price was aggressively rejected, often characterized by long wicks, marking potential reversal zones.
- High Volume Bars (HVB): By coloring candles based on volume relative to an EMA, the tool helps traders identify bars with significant participation, which often validates the strength of an OB or FVG.
Details
The script utilizes logic to ensure that boxes are non-repainting; once a zone is confirmed by the subsequent candle's close, it is drawn on the chart.
- PPDD OB: This refers to "Premium Premium Discount Discount" Order Blocks. These are qualitative indicators of strength, representing OBs formed specifically after a liquidity sweep (interacting with old highs/lows or fractal points). Because these occur at extreme price points, they are often considered higher probability.
- Mitigation Logic: For OBs and FVGs, the indicator can be set to change the color of a box or remove it entirely once the price has entered the zone. This helps keep the chart clean by focusing only on "fresh" or unmitigated levels.
- Stacked OB + FVG: The script identifies "Momentum" zones where an Order Block and a Fair Value Gap overlap at the same price and time. These are marked with a diamond symbol to signify strong institutional thrust.
Settings
Order Blocks
- Plot OB: Enables or disables the drawing of Order Block boxes.
- Maximum OB Box Displayed: Limits the number of active OB boxes on the chart to maintain performance.
- Custom Color Mitigated OB: Allows users to change the color or transparency of an OB once it has been touched by price.
Fair Value Gaps
- Plot FVG: Enables or disables the drawing of FVG boxes.
- Plot Structure Breaking FVG: Specifically highlights FVGs that occur simultaneously with a Break of Structure.
- Mitigated FVG Color: Controls the visual appearance of FVGs after they have been filled.
Crossovers (BoS)
- Plot BoS: Enables visualization of Break of Structure events.
- Use High/Low for BoS: Toggles whether the BoS is triggered by a candle close or a wick touch of the previous pivot.
- BoS Box Length Manually: Allows users to set a fixed bar length for BoS labels rather than extending them until mitigation.
High Volume Bar (HVB)
- Volume EMA Period: Sets the lookback period for calculating the average volume.
- Volume Multiplier: Determines how much higher than the average volume a bar must be to be highlighted as an HVB.
Qualitative indicators
- Plot PPDD OBs: Toggles the display of symbols marking OBs formed after liquidity sweeps.
- Plot Stacked OB+FVG: Toggles the diamond marker for overlapping OB and FVG zones.
FAQ
How do I use this to find entries? Traders typically look for price to return to a highlighted Order Block or Fair Value Gap zone and look for lower-timeframe confirmations before entering a trade.
Why do some boxes disappear? The indicator is designed to clean up mitigated zones. If you have "Filter Mitigated" settings turned on, the boxes will disappear or fade once the price enters the zone.
How can I access this tool? You can get access on the LuxAlgo Library for charting platforms like TradingView, MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), and NinjaTrader for free.
