ICT Custom opens
Jun 17, 2024

The ICT Custom opens indicator provides traders with a framework to delineate specific Inner Circle Trader (ICT) reference opening times across various sessions. It simplifies the process of tracking critical time-based liquidity levels and session openings by plotting customizable horizontal and vertical markers directly on the price chart.
Usage
The Usage section focuses on how to leverage the session markers for ICT-based trading models. Traders can use these lines to identify midnight opens, session starts, and other time-sensitive reference points.
- Session Tracking: Users can enable up to eight distinct session markers. Each marker can be configured with a specific hour and minute to match different ICT killzones or session starts (e.g., London Open, NY Open).
- New York Midnight Open: This feature specifically highlights the 00:00 New York opening price, which is a core component for determining daily bias and finding premium/discount arrays.
- Visual Customization: Each session marker can be styled individually with different line types (Solid, Dotted, Dashed), widths, and extensions. This helps in distinguishing between various time-based levels without cluttering the chart.
- Day of Week (DOW) Labels: The indicator can display labels for each day of the week at the top or bottom of the chart, allowing for better orientation during backtesting or live trading.
Details
The script uses a flexible time management system to ensure accuracy across different time zones. It accounts for GMT offsets and provides a dedicated setting for New York Eastern Time (typically UTC-4 or UTC-5 depending on DST).
The tool also includes a Weekly Divider feature. This draws a vertical boundary at a specified time and day (defaulting to Sunday at 17:00), marking the start of the true trading week. This is essential for traders who analyze the "Weekly Open" price as a key institutional reference point.
