Fancy strategy alerts example
Jun 27, 2020

The Fancy strategy alerts example tool demonstrates how to leverage the dynamic alert_message placeholder in Pine Script to create highly detailed and structured strategy alerts.
Usage
The tool provides a template for traders and developers to include rich data within a single alert execution. By populating the alert_message parameter in strategy functions, users can transmit more than just a simple buy or sell notification.
Examples of information included in these alerts:
- Price Levels: Current closing price and calculated take-profit/stop-loss targets.
- Statistical Data: Duration since the previous signal.
- Technical Context: Real-time values of auxiliary indicators like RSI, Moving Averages, and MACD components.
- Visual Formatting: Use of ASCII borders and emojis to improve readability in messaging apps like Telegram or Discord.
Details
This script utilizes the str.tostring() function to convert numerical series into text strings, which are then concatenated into a single block of text. This approach allows for a "dashboard" style alert that provides all necessary technical context at the moment a trade is triggered. This is particularly useful for traders using third-party webhooks to automate trades or those who prefer to see indicator confirmation directly in their notifications without opening a chart.
Settings
- Strategy Settings: Standard TradingView strategy parameters (Order size, pyramiding, etc.) affect how entries and exits are triggered.
- MA Period: The length of the Simple Moving Average (default is 20) used as the primary trend filter and crossover source.
- RSI Period: The length used for the Relative Strength Index calculation included in the alert data.
- MACD Parameters: Fast, slow, and signal lengths for the Moving Average Convergence Divergence values included in the message.
