The Quarter Sequence Chains indicator visualizes seven nested cycle levels within a single sub-pane ribbon to highlight Quarter Sequence chains based on the Quarterly Theory. By detecting when adjacent cycle levels share the same Q-phase or form a Q4-to-Q1 bridge, the tool identifies which side of the market larger timeframes are weighted toward.

Usage

The indicator displays a vertical ribbon consisting of seven rows, each representing a specific cycle level from the smallest (top) to the largest (bottom): Nano, Micro, 90M, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly. Each cell is colored based on its current Q-phase: Q1 (Gray - Accumulation), Q2 (Red - Manipulation), Q3 (Green - Distribution), and Q4 (Blue - Reversal/Continuation).

A "chain" is formed when adjacent rows share the same color phase or follow the doctrinal Q4↔Q1 bridge. Users can use this to identify market alignment:

  • Live Chains: A vertical stack of colored cells at the current bar indicates active alignment across multiple timeframes.
  • Simple Mode: Cells only color if they are part of a chain meeting a minimum length requirement (e.g., 3 rows).
  • Tiered Mode: Separates Higher Timeframe (HTF) and Lower Timeframe (LTF) tiers. Cells color only when both tiers have active chains meeting their respective minimum lengths, highlighting execution setups aligned with the "bigger picture."

Details

The script implements the Quarter Sequence framework, which treats market cycles as fractal units. The "adjacent-pair rule" is the core logic: a cell only reveals its phase color if it connects to the cell above or below it through a shared phase or a Q4↔Q1 transition. This filtering mechanism transforms a standard time-of-day indicator into a trend-alignment tool.

The indicator includes automatic "Timeframe Gating." If a chart timeframe is too high to accurately represent a small cycle (like Nano on a 1-hour chart), that row is automatically hidden. However, hidden cycles still participate in the internal chain detection logic; they are treated as gaps, meaning they break chains rather than creating false signals.

Settings

  • Show [Cycle Name] Row: Toggles the visibility of specific cycle levels (Nano through Yearly).
  • Phase Colours: Customizes the colors for Q1 (Accumulation), Q2 (Manipulation), Q3 (Distribution), and Q4 (Reversal/Continuation).
  • Only colour cells participating in a chain: When enabled, the ribbon only shows colors for cells that meet the chain requirements.
  • Chain mode: Choose between "Simple" (one length requirement for all) or "Tiered" (separate requirements for HTF and LTF cycles).
  • Simple: minimum rows in chain: Sets the number of adjacent rows required to form a chain in Simple mode.
  • Tiered: min HTF/LTF chain length: Sets independent minimums for the HTF tier (Weekly-Yearly) and LTF tier (Nano-Daily).
  • Project rest of session: Extends the ribbon into the future based on the remaining duration of the current sessions.

FAQ

How do I interpret a "Bridge Chain" versus a "Same-Phase Chain"? A Same-Phase Chain occurs when nested cycles are in the same Q-phase (e.g., all Q3). A Bridge Chain occurs when cycles transition between Q4 and Q1, representing the strongest doctrinal setup in the Quarterly Theory framework.

Why are some rows missing on my chart? The indicator uses Timeframe Gating to hide rows that cannot be accurately rendered on your current timeframe (e.g., the Nano cycle is hidden on timeframes higher than 1 minute to prevent data distortion).
