QuickStrike 5-Mins Scalping
Aug 21, 2024

The QuickStrike 5-Mins Scalping indicator provides a systematic framework for identifying high-momentum price candles and dynamic supply/demand zones specifically designed for fast-paced scalping environments. By filtering for significant price changes and generating visual zones with precision retracement levels, it helps traders pinpoint potential entries and exits during peak market hours.
Usage
The indicator offers two primary methodologies for market engagement:
Candle-Based Scalping
This approach focuses on immediate momentum. When a candle exceeds the Price Change Threshold (%), it is highlighted on the chart.
- Bullish Signal: Indicated by a green/blue highlighted candle and an upward triangle. Traders often look for entries at the close of this candle, targeting quick scalp profits.
- Bearish Signal: Indicated by a red/yellow highlighted candle and a downward triangle. Traders may enter short positions at the close, monitoring subsequent candles for momentum follow-through.
Zone-Based Scalping
This method utilizes the dynamic support and resistance zones created by explosive price moves.
- Dynamic Zones: When a move exceeds the Percentage Change for Zones (%), a box is drawn. These represent areas of high interest where price may react upon return.
- Retracement Entries: Each zone contains an inner dashed box (defined by the retracement settings). More conservative traders wait for the price to dip into these "inner zones" for better risk-to-reward entries, while aggressive traders may enter at the zone boundary.
Details
The script operates by calculating the percentage change of every candle. If the change is significant enough, it labels the candle as a momentum event. Furthermore, it tracks these moves to project horizontal zones into the future. To maintain chart clarity, a "Break Threshold" logic is used: if the price closes beyond a zone by a specified percentage, that zone is considered mitigated or invalidated and is automatically removed from the display. The script is also hardcoded to focus on a specific time window (10:30 AM to 2:30 PM) to capture optimal volatility.
Settings
- Price Change Threshold (%): The minimum percentage move required to highlight a momentum candle.
- Percentage Change for Zones (%): The minimum movement required to trigger the creation of a support or resistance zone.
- Break Threshold for Zones (%): The distance the price must move past a zone boundary for it to be removed.
- Buy Zone Retracement Level (%): Defines the inner boundary for the support zone (default 25% from top).
- Sell Zone Retracement Level (%): Defines the inner boundary for the resistance zone (default 75% from bottom).
