The Institutional Orderflow Pro — VWAP, Delta, and Liquidity tool provides a comprehensive order flow analysis framework designed to identify institutional participation, directional bias, and exhaustion zones in real time. It integrates VWAP dynamics, cumulative delta, relative volume (RVOL), and liquidity proximity into a unified, non-repainting dashboard to help traders distinguish between buyer and seller control.

Usage

The indicator can be used to confirm high-probability trade setups by aligning multiple institutional-grade metrics. Traders can utilize the following workflow for interpretation:

  • Confirm Volume Context: Look for RVOL values greater than 1.2 to ensure significant institutional activity is present.
  • Align with Bias: Take long positions when the HUD Bias is "UP" and short positions when the Bias is "DOWN."
  • Trend Verification: Ensure the "Slope" metric is active, indicating a trending market environment rather than a range.
  • Flow Confirmation: Verify that Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) and Delta Z-Score agree with the price direction to ensure aggressive market participants are supporting the move.
  • Liquidity Zones: Prioritize entries near previous day highs (PDH), lows (PDL), or VWAP levels, typically within 0.35 ATR, to trade from areas of established liquidity.
  • Pattern Recognition: Monitor for Absorption (ABS) and Exhaustion (EXH) signals which serve as cautionary markers where momentum may reverse.

Details

The script utilizes several advanced concepts to quantify institutional order flow:

  • Delta Z-Score (zΔ): Normalizes buying and selling delta over a lookback period to highlight statistically significant aggression.
  • RVOL: Compares current volume to a historical moving average to filter out retail noise.
  • VWAP Analysis: Combines standard VWAP position with a slope calculation to define market regimes (Up, Down, or Flat).
  • Confluence Distance: Measures the proximity of price to key levels from the previous session (High, Low, Close, VWAP) in ATR units to objectively identify liquidity proximity.
  • Absorption & Exhaustion Logic: Analyzes the relationship between volume, price range (body), and delta to detect when large orders are being absorbed or when buying/selling pressure has been depleted.

Settings

Orderflow Proxies

  • RVOL Lookback: Sets the period for the average volume calculation used to determine relative volume.
  • Delta Z-Score Lookback: Determines the window for normalizing delta values to identify aggression.

Signal Logic

  • Min RVOL: The minimum relative volume required to trigger a valid institutional signal.
  • Min |Delta Z|: The absolute Z-score threshold for identifying aggressive order flow.
  • Close-in-Range (High/Low): Thresholds for bar closing position relative to its range to ensure directional conviction.

Context Filters

  • Require VWAP Direction: When enabled, price must be on the correct side of the VWAP for a signal to trigger.
  • Require VWAP Slope: Filters signals based on whether the VWAP is trending.
  • Block on Opposite CVD Divergence: Prevents signals if the price and cumulative volume delta are trending in opposite directions.

Prev Day Confluence

  • Show PDH/PDL/PDC/VWAP: Toggles the visibility of previous day levels on the chart.
  • Require PD Confluence: If enabled, signals will only trigger within a specific distance of previous day levels.
  • Max PD Distance ATR ×: Sets the maximum allowable distance from liquidity levels in ATR units.

Visuals

  • Theme (Indicator): Selects between Dark, Light, or Auto color themes for the HUD.
  • HUD Position/Size: Adjusts the placement and scale of the information dashboard.
  • Show Marks: Toggles the visibility of ABS and EXH markers on the candles.
