The Trailing Fibonacci + Golden Zone indicator automates market structure analysis by dynamically updating Fibonacci retracement levels and identifying key corrective zones based on trailing price extremes. This tool provides real-time insights into trend direction and corrective phases by adapting to new price highs and lows without manual intervention.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify market phases and potential reversal points. The indicator functions by tracking price action to establish a dynamic range between a trailing high and a trailing low.

  • Market Structure Mapping: The indicator automatically identifies swing highs and lows. When the price breaks the current range, the Fibonacci levels expand, signaling a trend continuation.
  • Golden Zone Analysis: The area between the 0.618 and 0.786 ratios acts as a primary corrective zone. A price breakout from this zone indicates a potential shift in market dominance (bullish or bearish).
  • Signal Systems:
    • Breakout Signals: Triggered when the price moves through the Golden Zone, marking the initiation of a new impulse phase.
    • Retest/Exit Signals: Appear when the price returns to the Golden Zone and subsequently exits, confirming the continuation of the prevailing trend.
  • Trend Filtering: By increasing the Pivot Length, users can use the indicator to identify macro-level trends, ignoring minor price fluctuations to maintain a directional bias.

Details

The script utilizes a combination of trailing extremes and pivot-based logic to maintain its range. The "Zero Level" is assigned to the most recent anchor (the latest extreme), meaning the Fibonacci structure effectively "lives" with the price.

A minimum pivot length of 10 is enforced to filter out market noise and stabilize the detected swing structure. When price creates a new high or low, the range extends, and the internal ratios (0.236, 0.382, 0.500, etc.) are recalculated instantly. The Golden Zone model serves as a dynamic support or resistance area that changes color based on the current structural bias.

Settings

Main Settings

  • Pivot Length: Sets the lookback period for identifying swing points. Higher values result in more macro-level trend analysis, while lower values react faster to local price changes.
  • Show Fib Labels: Toggles the visibility of the percentage labels for the Fibonacci levels.
  • Fib Right Offset: Determines how many bars to the right the Fibonacci lines are projected.
  • Fib Labels Y Offset (%): Adjusts the vertical positioning of labels relative to the lines.
  • Fib Line Width: Sets the visual thickness of the Fibonacci grid lines.

Golden Zone

  • Enable Golden Zone: Toggles the visibility of the shaded corrective area.
  • Upper Ratio / Lower Ratio: Defines the specific Fibonacci levels that bound the Golden Zone (defaulted to 0.618 and 0.786).

Golden Zone Signals

  • Signal Type: Choose between 'Breakout', 'Retest/Exit', or 'Both' to display different trade confirmation markers.
  • Signal Size: Adjusts the visual scale of the signal shapes on the chart.

Fibonacci Levels

  • Show / Ratio: Individual toggles and value inputs for seven different Fibonacci levels, allowing for a fully customized grid configuration.

FAQ

How do I adjust the indicator for a specific timeframe?
Adjust the Pivot Length in the Main Settings. Use smaller values (10–15) for lower timeframes like the 1m or 5m, and larger values (20+) for higher timeframes like the Daily or Weekly.

What does it mean when the Golden Zone changes color?
The color change indicates a shift in market dominance. Typically, a green zone indicates bullish structural dominance, while a red zone indicates bearish dominance based on recent range breakouts.
