The Volume Weighted Reversal Bands indicator provides a hybrid channel system combining VWAP and multiple VWMAs to identify high-probability price channels and potential reversal areas.

Usage

The Usage section describes how the script can be used to identify trend exhaustion and dynamic support/resistance levels.

  • Scalping & Reversals: The bands act as dynamic levels where price frequently reacts. On lower timeframes, such as the 1-minute chart, users can utilize a tighter deviation (e.g., 0.5%) to identify scalping opportunities between the bands.
  • Mean Reversion: The thickest line in the center represents the main hybrid moving average. Price action tends to return to this level regularly after reaching the outer deviation bands.
  • Trend Identification: Lines change color based on price position; green indicates price is above the line (support), while red indicates price is below (resistance).
  • Confirmation: The indicator includes a secondary "Short MA" and a standalone VWAP line to provide additional context for short-term momentum and volume-weighted average price.

Details

The indicator constructs its main "Start Line" by averaging four distinct volume-weighted components: Main Line = (VWMA100 + VWMA500 + VWMA1000 + VWAP) / 4

From this baseline, the script plots 10 levels above and 10 levels below, separated by a user-defined percentage deviation. Additionally, the tool calculates a Short MA using a weighted average of eight different lengths (four VWMAs and four WMAs) to track immediate price fluctuations. By using volume-weighted calculations, the bands better reflect areas of liquidity where institutional hedging typically occurs.
