The Kill Zones indicator highlights the opening hours of the Tokyo, London, and New York stock market sessions to help traders identify periods of high volatility and liquidity. By visually marking these critical "Kill Zones," the tool allows users to focus on specific windows where institutional activity often drives significant price movements.

Usage

The indicator is primarily used to identify optimal trading windows during the day. Traders often look for specific setups or liquidity grabs during these times. For example, the start of the London or New York sessions frequently marks the high or low of the day or provides the momentum needed for a breakout.

To use the tool effectively:

  • Apply the indicator to a 1H timeframe or lower to see the session labels.
  • The script plots labels (T, L, NY) at the top of the chart during the active session hours.
  • Users should adjust the session start times in the settings to match their local timezone or preferred exchange hours.

Details

The script identifies three distinct sessions based on user-defined time inputs:

  1. Tokyo Kill Zone (TKZ): Typically represents the start of the Asian trading session.
  2. London Kill Zone (LKZ): Represents the opening volatility of the European session.
  3. New York Kill Zone (NYKZ): Represents the opening volatility of the North American session.

The tool uses session strings to determine the active status of each zone and provides built-in alerts to notify the user exactly when a specific Kill Zone begins.

Settings

FAQ

Which timeframe should I use?

While the script can be used on various timeframes, it is most effective on the 1H timeframe or lower (e.g., 15m or 5m) to see the intra-day session labels clearly.

Why don't the labels align with my chart?

Ensure that the session times in the settings match the timezone settings of your TradingView chart. You may need to adjust the "Set Start Of..." inputs to align with your specific offset.
