The SuperTrend - With Exits & Trade Zones indicator provides a comprehensive trend-following framework that utilizes pivot points and volatility-adjusted bands to identify entries, exits, and market zones. By adapting to market structure through dynamic center lines rather than standard moving averages, it offers traders a robust system for trend identification and trade management.

Usage

The indicator can be applied across various trading styles by adjusting its entry and exit configurations:

  • Entry Modes: Traders can select from four modes:
    • Immediate: Signals as soon as the trailing stop is breached.
    • Aggressive: Signals when price closes or opens beyond the break candle.
    • Balanced: Requires a full candle close beyond the breakout level.
    • Conservative: Highest confirmation; requires the candle to open and stay beyond the break level.
  • Exit Strategies: You can choose to exit based on a Trailing Stop, a fixed Take Profit percentage, or "Both" (whichever is hit first).
  • Trade Zones: The background is color-coded to simplify decision-making. Light Green indicates an active long, Light Red indicates an active short, and Gray represents a "No Trade Zone" where the trend is neutral or an exit has occurred.
  • Visual Aids: Diamond markers indicate trend breaks, while "BUY" and "SELL" labels mark entry points. Grey and Orange "X" markers denote stop-loss and take-profit exits, respectively.

Details

The script's logic departs from traditional SuperTrend calculations by incorporating Pivot Point detection.

  1. Pivot Point Detection: Identifies local highs and lows based on a user-defined period.
  2. Dynamic Center Line: A weighted calculation (previous_center × 2 + new_pivot) / 3 is used to establish a structural baseline.
  3. Volatility Bands: ATR-based bands are projected from the center line to create dynamic support and resistance.
  4. Filters: The tool includes several built-in filters to refine signals, including ADX for trend strength, VWAP for price relative to volume, and Opening Range Breakout (ORB) / Central Pivot Range (CPR) filters to ensure trades align with significant daily levels.

Settings

SuperTrend

  • Pivot Point Period: Controls the sensitivity of pivot detection (lower for responsiveness, higher for stability).
  • ATR Factor: The multiplier for trailing stop bands (lower for tighter stops).
  • ATR Period: The lookback period used for volatility calculations.
  • Entry Mode: Selects the confirmation level required for a signal (Immediate, Aggressive, Balanced, Conservative).

Exit Settings

  • Exit Method: Choose between Trailing Stop, Take Profit %, or Both.
  • Take Profit %: Sets the target percentage for automated TP markers.

Advanced Filters

  • ADX Filter: Filters signals based on a minimum trend strength threshold.
  • VWAP Filter: Only allows long signals above VWAP and short signals below VWAP (Strict or Moderate modes).
  • ORB/CPR Filters: Restricts signals based on Opening Range or CPR levels.

FAQ

How do I use the different entry modes?

Use "Immediate" or "Aggressive" for fast-moving day trading or scalping. For swing trading or volatile markets, "Balanced" or "Conservative" modes help avoid false breakouts by requiring price confirmation.

Can I set alerts for the exit signals?

Yes, the script is optimized for alerts. You can set notifications for Buy/Sell signals, trailing stop breaks, and specific exit triggers (TP or Stop Loss).
