1m/1W VWAPs X WVWAP
May 12, 2020

The 1m/1W VWAPs X WVWAP indicator provides a multi-timeframe approach to volume-weighted analysis by combining short-term and long-term benchmarks to identify intraday trend direction and potential reversal points.
Usage
This tool is designed for intraday traders who rely on Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) to gauge market value and momentum.
- 1-Minute VWAP: Displays the current volume-weighted average for the fastest intraday fluctuations, serving as a baseline for immediate price action.
- Weekly VWAP (1W): Acts as a major institutional benchmark. The indicator colors this line green when the price is trading above it and red when below, signaling the broader weekly trend.
- Moving VWAP (MVWAP): A smoothed version of the VWAP that uses an exponential moving average. Traders can use the interaction between the 1m VWAP and the MVWAP to identify short-term momentum shifts.
Details
The indicator utilizes three distinct logic layers:
- Security Request: It fetches the 1-minute VWAP directly from the exchange data to ensure high-frequency accuracy.
- Custom Weekly Calculation: It manually calculates the Weekly VWAP by tracking the cumulative volume-weighted price starting from the first bar of the trading week.
- EMA Processing: The MVWAP is calculated by applying an Exponential Moving Average to the standard VWAP calculation, providing a dynamic trend-following line that filters out noise.
Settings
- MVWAP Length: Determines the period used for the Exponential Moving Average applied to the VWAP. A higher value results in a smoother, slower-moving line, while a lower value follows price action more closely.
FAQ
How do I use the 1m/1W VWAPs X WVWAP for trade signals?
Traders often look for price crossovers with the Weekly VWAP for long-term bias, or crossovers between the 1-minute VWAP and the MVWAP for shorter-term entries and exits.
Can I change the timeframes used?
The 1-minute and Weekly parameters are fixed within the script logic to provide consistent multi-timeframe benchmarks, though the MVWAP smoothing length is fully adjustable.
