The Entry master RSI pullback indicator is a trend-following tool designed to identify potential entry points by detecting RSI crossovers toward the midline after a period of overbought or oversold conditions.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on identifying trend continuation or reversals based on RSI momentum shifts. Traders can use the visual "Buy" and "Sell" signals to find entries during market pullbacks.

  • Long Signals: Occur when the RSI crosses above the 50 level, provided the market was recently in an overbought state (within the last 30 bars).
  • Short Signals: Occur when the RSI crosses below the 50 level, provided the market was recently in an oversold state (within the last 30 bars).

These signals are particularly useful in trending markets where a brief retracement occurs before the primary trend resumes.

Details

The script utilizes a dual RSI approach for its internal logic. It calculates a base RSI (set to a fixed period of 14 using high prices) and a customizable RSI value based on user inputs. The core logic tracks the number of bars since the RSI reached extreme levels (Overbought/Oversold). A signal is triggered only if the RSI crosses the 50 midline within a 30-bar window of hitting those extremes, ensuring the momentum shift is fresh and relevant to the recent price action.

Settings

  • RSI Source: Determines the price source used for the RSI calculation (e.g., Close, High, Low).
  • RSI Length: Sets the lookback period for the primary RSI calculation.
  • RSI Overbought Level: Defines the threshold at which the market is considered overbought (default is 80).
  • RSI Oversold Level: Defines the threshold at which the market is considered oversold (default is 20).
