The SMC Core Lite - Signals indicator is a lightweight, performance-optimized tool designed to help traders identify institutional trading patterns through Smart Money Concepts (SMC) like Fair Value Gaps, Order Blocks, and Market Structure. It aims to simplify technical analysis by providing automated signal generation based on price action confluence and institutional zones.

Usage

The tool can be used to identify key market phases and high-probability entry points. Traders should first observe the market structure labels (BOS for Break of Structure and CHoCH for Change of Character) to determine the current trend or potential reversals. The script generates LONG or SHORT signals when price action aligns with specific confluences:

  • Trend Alignment: Signals are prioritized when they align with the current market bias.
  • Zone Mitigation: The script looks for price to pull back into a Bullish/Bearish Fair Value Gap (FVG) or Order Block (OB).
  • Confirmation: A signal is triggered when a candle closes in the direction of the bias after mitigating a zone.
  • Trade Management: Automated Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) lines appear with signals to assist in risk management based on the user-defined Risk:Reward ratio.

Details

The indicator utilizes a confluence-based approach to filter market noise:

  • Break of Structure (BOS) & Change of Character (CHoCH): These detect shifts in market trend. A BOS confirms trend continuation, while a CHoCH signals an early trend reversal.
  • Fair Value Gaps (FVG): These represent price imbalances where the market moved rapidly. The script tracks these as magnets for future price action.
  • Order Blocks (OB): These identify the last opposing candle before a significant impulsive move, marking where institutional interest is likely concentrated.
  • Performance Optimization: To ensure fast loading times, the script is optimized to store and track the most recent 10 active FVGs and Order Blocks.

FAQ

How do I interpret the SL and TP levels? The levels are automatically calculated based on the boundaries of the mitigated zone (FVG or OB) and your chosen Risk:Reward ratio.

Which timeframes are recommended for this tool? While it works on all timeframes, it is most effective on the 15m, 1H, 4H, and Daily charts where market structure is more defined.
