Engulfing Candles Alert - Multi Symbol
Sep 28, 2024

The Engulfing Candles Alert - Multi Symbol indicator identifies bullish and bearish engulfing patterns across multiple tickers, allowing traders to monitor up to eight different assets simultaneously for price action signals.
Usage
The indicator is primarily designed for multi-asset monitoring and automated alerting. Users can visualize engulfing patterns on the current chart through triangle shapes—green triangles below the bar for bullish engulfing and red triangles above the bar for bearish engulfing.
To set up multi-symbol alerts:
- Add the indicator to your chart.
- Open the settings and select the symbols you wish to monitor.
- Toggle the bullish or bearish alert filters according to your preference.
- Create a TradingView alert using the indicator; the script will trigger notifications for any of the selected symbols when an engulfing candle closes.
Details
The script utilizes the request.security() function to fetch open and close data for the external symbols. An engulfing pattern is defined based on the relationship between the current candle's body and the previous candle's body:
- Bullish Engulfing: Occurs when the current open is less than or equal to the previous close, the current open is lower than the previous open, and the current close is higher than the previous open.
- Bearish Engulfing: Occurs when the current open is greater than or equal to the previous close, the current open is higher than the previous open, and the current close is lower than the previous open.
