RSI2 with alerts for Binary Option
Aug 6, 2020

The RSI2 with alerts for Binary Option indicator is a mean-reversion tool designed to identify short-term corrective periods and potential trend reversals for binary options trading.
Usage
The indicator is used to identify aggressive entry points when the market reaches extreme overbought or oversold conditions based on a 2-period RSI calculation.
- Bullish Signals: Look for buying opportunities (CALL) when the 2-period RSI moves below the Lower Band (typically set to 5), indicating a deeply oversold state. A buy arrow appears when the RSI crosses back above this threshold.
- Bearish Signals: Look for short-selling opportunities (PUT) when the 2-period RSI moves above the Upper Band (typically set to 95), indicating a deeply overbought state. A sell arrow appears when the RSI crosses back below this threshold.
For improved accuracy, it is recommended to use this tool alongside two Stochastic RSI indicators with the following settings:
- Slow Stoch RSI: 3, 3, 14, 14
- Fast Stoch RSI: 3, 3, 5, 5 Trade entries are generally considered more reliable when both Stochastic RSI indicators align with the overbought or oversold state of the RSI2.
Details
This script is based on Larry Connors' RSI2 strategy, which focuses on short-term mean reversion. By using a very short lookback period (2 bars), the indicator becomes highly sensitive to price fluctuations, making it suitable for the fast-paced nature of binary options. The logic calculates the Relative Strength Index using a 2-period RMA (Relative Moving Average) of price changes. The signals are triggered specifically when the RSI value exits the extreme zones, suggesting a reversal of the immediate corrective move.
Settings
- Upper Band: Defines the overbought threshold. Values typically range between 80 and 100, with 95 being the default for aggressive mean reversion.
- Lower Band: Defines the oversold threshold. Values typically range between 0 and 20, with 5 being the default.
