ICT - high low indicator
Aug 24, 2020

The ICT - high low indicator tool automatically identifies and plots the previous three periods of daily, weekly, and monthly highs and lows to assist traders in identifying key liquidity levels.
Usage
The indicator is designed to simplify the identification of institutional reference points, which are central to ICT (Inner Circle Trader) methodologies. By plotting the last three sessions of high and low data across different timeframes, users can anticipate potential support, resistance, or liquidity raids.
Typical use cases include:
- Liquidity Targets: Using previous highs (PDH, PWH, PMH) or lows (PDL, PWL, PML) as draw-on-liquidity targets.
- Entry Confluence: Identifying when price reaches a long-term key level on a lower timeframe for potential reversals.
- Trend Bias: Determining market structure based on whether price is respecting or violating previous period extremes.
Details
The script utilizes the request.security function to fetch historical price data from Daily (D), Weekly (W), and Monthly (M) resolutions. It specifically tracks:
- Daily: The high and low of the 3 most recent completed trading days.
- Weekly: The high and low of the 3 most recent completed trading weeks.
- Monthly: The high and low of the 3 most recent completed trading months.
The levels are displayed using circular plots with price tracking enabled, ensuring the levels are projected forward for immediate visual reference on the current bar. Line thickness differentiates the timeframes: daily levels are thin, weekly levels are medium, and monthly levels are thick.
Settings
The current version of the script uses fixed visual parameters and does not contain an inputs menu. The following visual assignments are hardcoded:
- Green Circles: Represent historical High levels.
- Red Circles: Represent historical Low levels.
- Line Width 1: Assigned to Daily levels.
- Line Width 2: Assigned to Weekly levels.
- Line Width 3: Assigned to Monthly levels.
