Hull-MA_X + Ichimoku Kinko Hyo + MACD
Sep 9, 2017

The Hull-MA_X + Ichimoku Kinko Hyo + MACD indicator is a comprehensive trend-following tool that combines the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo system with a fast-reacting Hull Moving Average and the MACD momentum oscillator to identify high-probability entries.
Usage
The indicator is used to confirm trend direction and momentum shifts simultaneously. Traders can monitor the following elements for signal generation:
- Ichimoku Cloud: Used for primary trend identification. Prices above the Senkou Span (Kumo Cloud) suggest a bullish bias, while prices below suggest a bearish bias.
- Hull Moving Average (HMA): The script tracks a fast Hull MA crossing a slow Hull MA. When the fast HMA (n1) is above the slow HMA (n2), it signals bullish momentum, highlighted by green circles on the chart.
- MACD Trigger: The MACD line crossing above the signal line (aMacD) provides a momentum-based confirmation for long entries, and vice versa for shorts.
- Kijun/Tenkan Cross: Traditional Ichimoku signals like the Tenkan Sen crossing the Kijun Sen act as secondary confirmations within the strategy framework.
Details
This script integrates three distinct technical methodologies to filter out noise in non-trending markets.
- Ichimoku Kinko Hyo: Provides a "one-look" view of support and resistance using the Tenkan Sen (Turning Line), Kijun Sen (Base Line), and the Senkou Spans which form the Kumo Cloud.
- Hull Moving Average (HMA): Developed by Alan Hull, this moving average solves the problem of lag by using a weighted moving average (WMA) calculation that emphasizes recent price action while maintaining smoothness.
- MACD: A momentum indicator that calculates the difference between two exponential moving averages. In this script, it serves as the final trigger for execution when aligned with the trend filters.
Settings

FAQ
How do I interpret the colored circles on the chart?
The circles represent a crossover of the Hull Moving Average components. A green circle indicates the fast Hull MA has crossed above the slow Hull MA, suggesting an upward momentum shift.
What is the purpose of the Chikou Span?
The Chikou Span (orange line) represents the current closing price shifted backward by the displacement period. It is used primarily for visual confirmation of current price relative to historical price levels.
