VMDM - Volume, Momentum & Divergence Master
Dec 3, 2025

The VMDM - Volume, Momentum & Divergence Master indicator is a comprehensive market analysis tool that scores RSI momentum, volume pressure, and behavioral patterns into a single confluence rating to identify high-probability reversal and continuation zones. This system weights multiple confirmation factors to help traders distinguish between low-quality signals and high-conviction setups using a non-repainting, transparent scoring matrix.
Usage
The indicator can be utilized in three distinct detection modes to suit different trading styles:
- Confirmed Mode: Signals appear only after a pivot is mathematically confirmed (default 3 bars), ensuring a non-repainting environment ideal for swing trading and educational study.
- Real-Time Mode: Displays confluence signals as they develop on the current bar without waiting for pivot confirmation, providing immediate feedback for intraday scalping.
- Relaxed Mode: Uses adaptive thresholds to show signals when confluence is exceptionally high, even if some minor confirmation factors are lagging.
Traders should look for alignment between the visual layers: for instance, a bullish regular divergence (timing) occurring within a green background zone (buying pressure) and accompanied by an "Accumulation" box (structural context).
Details
The VMDM engine processes four analytical layers to generate its confluence score:
- RSI Momentum: Detects trend exhaustion by identifying regular and hidden divergences.
- Volume Pressure: Quantifies buying versus selling intensity by calculating where price closes within its range, normalized via percentile ranking.
- Behavioral Footprints: Algorithmic detection of "Absorption" (high volume in tight ranges), "Stop Hunts" (false breakouts of recent structure), and "Exhaustion" (large rejection wicks on high volume).
- Confluence Matrix: A weighted scoring system (0-100) that rewards setups where multiple factors align, categorized into Valid (60+), High Quality (75+), and Textbook (90+) tiers.
Settings
- Performance: Toggles for visual elements and object history limits to optimize chart loading speeds.
- Market Structure Detection: Controls pivot sensitivity (Left/Right bars) and the minimum confluence score required to trigger a signal.
- Technical Periods: Adjusts lookback lengths for RSI, Volume MA, ATR, and the Pressure Percentile ranking.
- Signal Detection Mode: Selection between Real-time, Confirmed, and Relaxed logic.
- Visual Layers: Individual toggles for Market Structure, Pressure Zones, Divergence Lines, Footprint Markers, and the Consolidated Analysis Label.
- Dashboard: Configuration for the information density (Compact to Full) and on-screen position of the metrics HUD.
FAQ
- Why do signals appear several bars after a reversal? In Confirmed mode, the indicator waits for "Pivot Right Bars" (default 3) to ensure the pivot is valid and will not repaint. This delay provides technical certainty over immediate execution.
- Does this indicator work on all assets? VMDM is most effective on assets with reliable volume data, such as Forex majors, large-cap Stocks, Stock Indices, and high-liquidity Crypto pairs.
