The Multi Timeframe RSI Buy Sell Strategy indicator is a comprehensive tool designed to analyze Relative Strength Index (RSI) across multiple timeframes simultaneously to identify high-probability reversal zones. By aggregating data from up to three different timeframes, it helps traders pinpoint confluent overbought or oversold conditions while minimizing noise.

Usage

The Usage of this strategy revolves around detecting extreme market conditions where multiple timeframes align. Users can enable one, two, or three RSI lines, each configured to a specific timeframe (e.g., 5m, 15m, and 30m).

  • Buy Signals: Triggered when all enabled RSI lines cross below the user-defined Buy Threshold (default 30). This indicates a strong oversold condition across various time horizons.
  • Sell Signals: Triggered when all enabled RSI lines cross above the user-defined Sell Threshold (default 70). This indicates a strong overbought condition.
  • Moving Average Interpretation: The indicator plots a Moving Average (MA) of the combined RSI values. The color intensity of this line shifts based on its proximity to the thresholds, providing a visual cue of building momentum or exhaustion.
  • Backtesting: Users can toggle the "Enable backtest" setting to visualize historical trade performance, complete with chart labels and order executions.

Details

The script calculates RSIs for each selected timeframe using the request.security function. When multiple RSIs are active, the script averages their values to produce a basis for the Moving Average line.

A unique feature is the "Signal Cool Down Period," which prevents rapid-fire signals in volatile markets. Once a signal is triggered, the strategy waits for the specified number of bars before allowing a new entry in the same direction. This ensures that the strategy doesn't over-trade during prolonged trending moves where RSI might stay in extreme zones.

FAQ

How do I interpret multiple RSI lines on one chart? When lines are clustered together in the extreme zones (above 70 or below 30), it suggests market confluence. If one RSI is high while another is low, the market is likely in a complex correction or timeframe divergence.

Can I use this for intraday trading? Yes, the indicator is designed specifically for multi-timeframe analysis, which is highly effective for intraday traders looking to align short-term entries with medium-term trends.
