The IFVG Sniper Entry Engine indicator is a specialized technical analysis tool designed to detect and visualize Inversion Fair Value Gaps (IFVG) to provide structured trade entry projections. It automates the identification of market imbalances that have been reclaimed, helping traders reduce chart noise through a multi-layered filtering system.

Usage

The Usage section focuses on how the script identifies filtered IFVG events and projects potential trade setups. Traders can use the indicator to spot shifts in directional pressure when price breaks through a previously formed FVG in the opposite direction.

  • Entry Visualization: When a valid IFVG is confirmed, the script projects a trade box with a specific entry price, an ATR-based stop-loss, and a selectable Reward-to-Risk (RR) target.
  • Active Trade Logic: The tool follows a "one-active-trade-at-a-time" rule. Once a trade projection is active, new signals are tracked in the dashboard but do not create new visual boxes until the current projection hits TP or SL.
  • Filter Interpretation: Users can toggle between "Off", "Loose", "Balanced", "Strict", and "Custom" modes. A "Strict" setting requires larger gaps and stronger candle bodies, resulting in fewer but higher-quality visual review points.

Details

The script operates through a persistent memory system that stores Fair Value Gaps and monitors them for inversion.

  • Inversion Logic: A Bullish IFVG+ occurs when a bearish FVG is broken to the upside. Conversely, a Bearish IFVG- occurs when a bullish FVG is broken to the downside.
  • Filtering Mechanism: The script evaluates each inversion based on the original gap size (relative to ATR), the candle body-to-range ratio, and the total displacement of the candle confirming the break.
  • Intrabar Assumption: In cases where both Take Profit and Stop Loss are hit within the same candle, the script applies a conservative logic, counting the SL first to avoid over-optimistic visual results.
  • Invalidation: If enabled, the script removes IFVG levels when price closes back through the opposite boundary of the zone, ensuring the chart remains focused on active levels.

Settings

IFVG Engine

  • Hidden FVG Memory: Determines the number of historical FVGs stored in memory for potential inversion checks.
  • Max Hidden FVG Age: The maximum number of bars an FVG remains eligible for inversion.
  • IFVG Line Price: Sets the visual line reference to the Broken Boundary, Confirmation Close, or Midpoint.
  • Delete Invalidated IFVG: Toggle to automatically remove lines when price closes beyond the IFVG zone.

IFVG Filter

  • IFVG Filter Mode: Selects the strictness of the signal filtering (Off to Strict).
  • Custom Minimum Gap / ATR: Defines the required size of the FVG gap relative to volatility (Custom mode only).
  • Custom Minimum Body Ratio: Defines the required strength of the candle body (Custom mode only).

IFVG Entry Model

  • Entry Price: Sets whether the entry projection starts at the IFVG line or the confirmation candle close.
  • SL ATR Multiplier: Adjusts the distance of the stop-loss projection based on market volatility.
  • Take Profit RR: Sets the target distance based on a fixed ratio (1R to 6R).

Visual Style & Dashboard

  • IFVG Label Size: Adjusts the size of the IFVG+ and IFVG- chart labels.
  • Show Dashboard: Toggles the visibility of the summary panel containing win/loss stats and current trade status.

FAQ

How do I interpret the IFVG+ and IFVG- labels? IFVG+ indicates a bullish inversion (a bearish FVG was broken upward), while IFVG- indicates a bearish inversion (a bullish FVG was broken downward). These serve as structural review points for potential entries.

Why did the indicator detect an IFVG but not draw a trade box? This occurs if a trade projection is already active. The script allows only one active visual trade model at a time to prevent chart clutter and promote focused analysis.
